What is a bottomless portafilter and what is it used for?
Bottomless portafilters are used as a training tool. It will provide you with immediate feedback and can see if channeling occurs right away.
PLEASE NOTE: Channeling and spill can be very messy, but are EXTREMELY common. This is not a defect of the portafilter itself, but instead, is your coffee telling you that there's room for improvement in your preparation process (grind size, tamping, distribution, etc.)

I like that there is no plastic, and that it is easy to clean. However, we found that without a grind wisk and tamper this basket spurts coffee all over. Now that we have the extra accessories it works great.

The portafilter fits perfectly in my Bambino plus and is easy to use. However, I did notice a difference in the quality of pour when using the basked from this product vs the original that I received from revile. My recommendation would be to swap out the basket from this product with the original one.

Bought as a gift to upgrade our son-in-laws espresso machine. It was beautiful wood and quality built. He has been using now for six months and still very happy with this product.

This portafilter is definitely lighter but the edges are very very sharp.I cut myself while using this.

Pleasantly surprised at this 54mm portafilter. The price for quality is great, been pulling great shots on the Bambino with it. I will say that it is lighter than your other more pricier portafilter, but it works great!

the basket was not working but they wont replace it. HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE??? JUST DON'T GET THIS ONE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTE TRASH. Portafilter was fine. basket it came with was dookieee. BUT they will not replace the basket, that is a you problem. Dont want to deal with that problem buy a different one

Great quality, good fit, and compatible to my bambino reg/pro. I love how this looks and it's fit/finish. I have other handles and this is a great feeling addition with good weight and build. It is easy to use and clean. Some people place oil on the wood to keep the finish but I have not tried that as yet

It's very light, probably because of the excess material they removed. looks really stylish and makes puck prep easier thanks to the reduced weight. I just wish it would sit flat on my counter, and it would make this product perfect.

I’ve been using this portafilter for about 2 weeks and it took a few times ( and quite a few YT videos !) but I’m finally getting a nice funnel shaped uniform stream of espresso.I like it better than the pressurized portafilter I’ve used before because:> It’s soooo much easier to clean, just run it under the faucet and give it a quick brushing> no need to remove the basket, which for me it was a pain with the other type of portafilter> i think this one is reasonably priced compared to other ones hereAll in all I definitely recommend it

Très bonne qualite pour le prix que j'ai payéLéger a comparé l'original, due a que le manche est en bois et il est sans fond, donc moins de metal, moins lourd, voir photosPour Breville barista pro.Muy buena calidad por el precio, ligero comparando el original y es devido a que el mango es en madera y es sin fondo menos metal, mas lugero.Ver fotos.Breville barista pro.
