Being involved in a long-term photo project, I've had a chance to compare Canon batteries to after-market batteries for the Canon T6 DSLR camera. Compared to the Canon batteries, the off-market batteries have a shorter, and possibly much shorter, lifespan. So, it's worth the extra money to purchase the Canon batteries.
