Pretty sturdy, took a long time to get Mr. Cheesesteak to actually get IN the thing (of course, because cats), but he seems pretty content now. He does NOT like it when it's moved with him in there, but, he does like being nearby during work hours and having this keeps him off the keyboard mostly. And as a fun bonus, it holds him up near the microphone so he can talk during group calls lol.

I review products for the Amazon Vine program and I received this product review. This over-the-desk modular cat bed is sturdy with a thoughtful design, and has feline approval at our home. Our largest cat weighing in at 18 pounds, loves it and it holds up so it passes the weight test. It is made primarily of heavy-duty metal, with a secure clamp, adjustable height, and 360° swivel arm that allows flexibility in placement and positioning. The soft, plush bedding is well-padded, cozy, and machine washable, with thoughtful details like velcro tabs to keep the cushion in place and no exposed screws for added safety and comfort. It is adjustable and swivel friendly. I find that it's easy to run a position or rotate without tools in the clamp. Adjusted in intuitively with the single lever. We have a plethora of cats and everyone has shown interest, although we have two who have not yet climbed into it. The others are using their domination skills to stay in the seat! Perhaps I needed another one. For the most part, this keeps the cats off my desk and the keyboard, although occasionally they feel the need to still climb across my keyboard to remind me that they can 😼.I thought the set up was easy, the instructions were clear and I assembled it in about 25 minutes. My only concern with this item is that you need at least 3 inches of clear flat space underneath your desk or mounting area for the clamp. My large desk does not have an area where this can clamp on, so we've actually clamped it onto a bookcase that sits beside my desk.I find this to be a safe stylish and functional perch for our kitties and is a useful piece of equipment in our multiple cat household. I highly recommend this item and I'm giving it five stars.

I've gone through trial and error with these office cat beds.Well, all error if you want to get technical - until this one.I had criteria, based on previous flops and structural failures:1. Nothing advertised as being for kittens or small/light/medium cat - this code for hot garbage2. Most, if not all metal3. Stable bottom & no hammock styles - my cat likes stability under her butt and will not sit on anything she can't walk on gracefully4. Something that swivels5. Adjustable height would be a bonus6. Comfortable bedding7. Something that doesn't require additional construction to make simple adjustments. This bed checks all the boxes."For cats under 25lbs" is perfect for my cat. She's less than half that weight, but I knew it would be made of beefier material if it was suppose to support a beefier cat. Now, will it support a 20-25lb cat? Not a clue. I don't intend for her to get that big, but I know this bed will be able to handle it if she does put on some weight. I can see it holding at least 15-18lbs, which is still a good deal of weight. The pole, the clamp and the arm are all heavy duty metal. The basket part of the frame is a thinner metal, but those parts have to curve so I think it's okay. There is very little plastic, a piece of cardboard and a thick wood or particle board panel. The metal basket frame has a circular piece of cardboard to give the bed bottom structure AND a wood panel underneath supporting the basket frame and the cardboard. It feels very stable under hand. The arm connects to the pole with a heavy duty tension-style clamp. Simply loosen the clamp bolt by hand & pull up the handle to rotate the bed 360° or up & down on the pole, then retighten the bolt & push down the handle. No tools or disassembly necessary.Of course, the real indicator of whether it's worthy or not is if the cat uses it. Mine is stubborn and will only sit somewhere if it was her idea. She doesn't let no man tell her what to do, where to sit, etc.I did put her in this bed and for the first time in her existence she said "I'll allow it" and sat immediately. Now she's sleeping in it.Even though it's a super soft faux fur it's not the bedding material (alone) that convinced her. The bed is padded and generously sized. The manufacturer took into consideration how the bedding would fold over and be secured on the frame. They provided ample material for this, resulting in the fully installed bedding being plush and cozy all the way around. Nowhere is the material pulled taught. The result is that after all assembled the bed looks a little on the smaller side, but it's not. It's a cozy haven for the cat to snuggle up in.I also appreciate that none of the screws poke into the bedding (or into the cat).Something worth mentioning is regarding the clamp that secures the pole to the desk. In order for this to adhere securely it needs at least 3" measuring from the edge of the desk (or whatever surface you're mounting it to) depth wise of flat, level surface on top of the desk surface AND underneath. My mistake was forgetting that my desk's 3/4" square support frame outlines the entire perimeter of the underside of the desk. It's juuust wide enough to get in the way of the clamp & prevent it from cleanly reaching the desk surface underneath. This is not the fault of this product (it's an issue I've had with every other desk mount clamp I've done across) but I wanted to remind ppl to remember to check the underside of their desk for lips or bars that will ruin your plans. Also, in case you were wondering, no, a standard sized window sill is NOT deep enough to be used with this product.I have a bookcase by my desk and was able to mount the bed on the thickest part that's flat.Oh, another helpful tidbit for anyone wondering: the included pole is a standard sized pole used for mounting monitors & such (perhaps a little shorter). It's circumference is about 4.5" / 1.4" diameter. This might be useful if you have a special desk clamp or something that you need to use. As long as the pole is that same thickness you'll be able to put the bed, arm and tension clamp on your own pole & desk clamp setup.

I originally purchased this so our little barnacle cat could stay close to my husband while he worked from home. Thankfully my husband rejected the idea of added clutter (even though I explained that it can be turned away from the desk) because I found an even better use it!Our senior cat had stopped sleeping on our bed since the boy cat joined the brood. The risk of getting accidentally kicked by us or bapped by him became too great. With cat stairs already in-place, there was no room for another table and window beds kept falling down. This ended up being the perfect solution! The instructions were easy to follow just by looking at the pictures and all the necessary tools and equipment were included along with extra screws. The clamp can easily be attached to a range of table thicknesses from very thin to a few inches and it feels stable and sturdy. The bed itself is very soft, warm, and comfy, plus I like that the fabric part can be removed from the metal apparatus for washing. The best part? As soon as I had it set up, I set my senior cat on the bed (with boy cat nearby). I didn't need to use any treats, catnip, or coaxing. She immediately spotted the swivel bed and took to it of her own volition, climbing in, having a bath, looking out the window, and then settling down for a nap. I'm over the moon that she can feel like part of the bedtime crew again!Functional, versatile, safe, comfy, and cat approved. Well worth the price!
