Our boy is "high pee'er" - always going over the side of shorter boxes. Had tried one with a separate "shield" topper - kept things in the box but was a NIGHTMARE to clean. This box is tall enough to keep everything contained. Secondly, his box is in a cabinet, so many boxes wouldn't work as they were too large to fit with a "front" opening. With the opening here being on the side it works out perfectly! Also, the smooth interior (no ridges, etc) makes scooping a breeze. A bit pricey, but SSOOOO worth it! Highly recommended!

I have one of these and my son has two because he liked mine. Its a nice litter box but is more narrow than I like for my larger cats to turn around in. The opening could also be a little taller so litter doesn't come out as easily. Perfect for a smaller or mid sized cat but maybe not perfect for a very large cat.

I absolutely LOVE this litter box!There are a couple reasons why I selected this type of box:1. some cats stand tall with the front paws on the edge of the box, often if constipated or have megacolon.2. many boys are high peeing, so their urine always gets in between the join of upper and lower parts of lidded boxes.I am fostering for a rescue so I never know which style of cat I will get, so this box is perfect.As well, the surface of the inside of the box is very easy to clean.If I ever need to replace this one, or need another box, I'll get this one again.
