Symptoms to replace a Timing Chain Cover
Oil is leaking
Over time and due to exposure to heat, dirt, road grime, and more, the gasket can often become cracked or wear out.
Engine runs rough
When a timing cover becomes damaged and does not properly seal with the engine block, debris can enter the engine; especially in critical areas like the crankshaft
Knocking sound coming from the engine
When the timing cover is loose, it may cause a knocking sound to appear from near the front of the motor. If you see a flat, metal plate that appears to be shaking, the timing cover that is loose.
Check Engine Light comes on
The timing cover is designed to seal the engine and keep oil or pressure from escaping. If a pressure or vacuum situation occurs, sensors in the motor will trigger the Check Engine Light.

Poorly made. Cheap screws which are already twisted. Cover doesn’t fit flat. Unlikely it will hold oil.

May need some clean up on mounting surface but overall nice. Way better than stock and if you ever want to do a cam change you don’t have to pull half the engine apart

Everything seems good, but the upper portion of the cover was phillips screws instead of allen bolts. Otherwise it seems nice. After i find allens ill install it.

Good backup/ insurance to have .....It will save alot of time when u decide to cam swapit!!!I did have to change out the bolts 🔩Tractor supply has more bolt to replace.

It’s a nice looking part and the fit was good. I have had zero problems with the upper cover leaking. The only problem I have is the upper cover bolts are all philips screws and would look and perform better as an Allen bolt.

Timing cover looks awesome! Had to take a little off as you would with the stock cover but no biggie. Very happy/impressed with the quality. Would recommend

Bottom sealing surface of of timing cover was not machined, was just as it was cast, wouldn't trust it to seal in the long run.
