This is totally on me that I did not read the description close at all. I just fell in love with it when I saw it, because we have wanted a card catalogue. Super disappointed it was cardboard

The old-timey catalog cards were very accurately copied (except there are no notes on the back, but that's understandable). Love the idea, the cards, the envelopes and the box!

This is a great gift for any budding librarians out there. It isn't wood - but rather cardboard with a wood print over it - but the cards themselves are really interesting and I was happy with their quality. It comes with a bunch of blank cards so you can document your own books and little envelope things (presumably so you can check your own books out!) Fun gift for any book lover or anyone with a library or study.

Ein Geschenk für meine Freundin, das super angekommen ist. Die Kiste ist zwar nicht aus Holz (seht auch so in der Beschreibung), aber trotzdem sehr wertig gemacht. Sehr stabilie Pappe. Ein Hightlight für jeden bibliophilen Vintage-Fan.

I bought two of these. First one I bought for myself, and it was marvelous! Such a cool idea. Since I loved it so much, I bought the second one as a present. The second one sat unopened until I gave it as a gift, and sadly the second one was missing the dividers and the note cards. I was past the return window by the time I discovered the lack.

I received these notecards today, and they are perfect! They come in a little cardboard box that is an excellent replica of an old-fashioned library card box, and I love the little library notecards and envelopes that come inside. I will be using these little cards as thank-you notes for clients who buy the book lovers' gift baskets I sell. The cards on the backside have a little space to write a short note, and the envelope is just about the same size as the little note cards. They are a lot of fun!

The photo of this product made my heart sing. Oh my gosh! A blast from the past. A beautiful, oak hardwood, dovetailed box with an original gold drawer pull. I thought now that is the 4"x6" recipe card box I didnt realize Ive been waiting for. I tapped 'Add to the Cart' immediately. The package arrived today. The box is actually made out of carboard with a pretty nice looking oak paper finish. The gold drawer pull is a one-dimensional sticker. When you gently pull the drawer open you need to be really careful not to damaged the cardboard. The best is part is in the box, wonderful authentic notecards and blue envelopes. But for $19.98. Uh no. I returned this purchase the next day.

A box of cards (with envelopes) which are copies of the original library index cards. Each card is 5x3 inches which is a standard small size so you can easily find more if you want to add your own notes. You could post the originals to literary minded friends. I prefer to keep the set - it also includes alphabet dividers- to store my records of books I have read/plan to read. The box is, as mentioned by other reviewers, made of cardboard coated with paper. However, it is a lot more attractive than the usual plastic index card boxes. No one would seriously expect an antiquated oak box for the money. Many items of stationary storage, like box files, are made of cardboard coated with paper. It makes an attractive desk top addition with room for quite a few more cards if you get the indexing bug. A set of four would look very cute stacked together.

I bought these to use as thank you cards for people. The old-fashioned look to them is very aesthetic, and these cards are very popular amongst my friends. The container they come in is also adorable.

I think the cards and envelopes are delightful! As some other reviewers mentioned, they are small …. but they are precisely the size of a catalog card. And definitely enough room to write more than on a picture postcard. I ordered a several sets -- some of the cards to use as note cards, as well as a full set to keep for myself. The boxes are lovely. Study cardboard covered in nicely printed faux wood … they definitely look like card catalog drawers. Same height & width as a card catalog drawer, just shorter. I plan to use mine as special little file boxes. Oh, and the ones I received were shrink-wrapped in plastic, so no sticker messing up the outside.

This is a lovely and most amusing little toy for bibliophiles. It's a well-crafted cardboard box with photos on all sides so it looks like the original made of wood. A little file drawer pulls out of it. The drawer contains 30 individual facsimile catalog cards, arranged alphabetically by author, with little tabbed alphabet dividers. Each card is 3" x 5": on one side is the facsimile catalog card--for example, the card for Louisa May Alcott's _Little Women_--and the other side is lined and formatted like a blank catalog card. 30 attractive blue envelopes are included in the back of the box, so you could write a note to someone on the blank side of the _Little Women_ card, say, and mail it to them in one of the envelopes. I'm not sure if I want to part with any of the cards, they're that charming--with cross-outs and hand-written changes, old-fashioned typewriter fonts, dirt & grime, the whole bit.The only downside is that not all of the cards are fun to look at them: a few of them are just plain & boring, produced by a computer using the same font set. But most of them are great fun!
