I live in Florida, and we go to the beach often. The worst part of going to the beach is trying to get off that darn sand. So I've usually had a bag of talc or cornstarch to help get it off before getting into the car. Thanks to these things...I don't need to do that any more! These are much smaller and easier to cart around than the powder stuff, and it doesn't make a mess in my car. It's easy to clip them to a beach bag with the carabiner, and the little plastic bag helps keep them from getting wet. (You don't want them to get wet - they aren't effective.)We tried them out after attending an Easter service on the beach, and they worked wonderfully. We got the sand off, and didn't have some other powder all over our legs and feet.

These worked pretty well at the beach. I don't care too much about sand, but my husband hates cleaning the car out every time we come back from the beach, so this was my way of trying to enable his ability to get the sand off of us before we got in the car. I love that they come with the sealed bag and carabiner for transport, and the plastic on the bags are pretty thick so there's no chance of puncture or even of them opening if they had sand at the bottom. They're a good size for getting sand off your feet and limbs, and simple enough to wipe the sand off. I compared these to a plush set without the filler and they worked about the same. The listing says to use it on dryish sand, but it did try my skin out a bit so I would think even if you have wet sand, this could probably handle it pretty well as long as you don't dunk it in the water. In my opinion, they are a bit pricey for what they are but they worked well for what I needed.

It relieved me of some sand but after a while it just spread the sand around. Was hoping for a miracle gadget but didn’t get it

I love these. They are small enough to throw in my beach bag. I was worried that I would scratch my skin while removing the sand. However, they are soft. As long as you don't apply a ton of pressure, the sand just sort of wipes off without hurting or irritating my skin. I also like that it comes as a pack of two. There is one for me and one for my husband. These are great!

Was just okay. Only semi works on dry sand; definitely not on sand when it is wet.

Cute little handheld sand removers with seashell/starfish designs. They each have their own bag and include a powdery substance on them, presumably to help removed dry sand from the body. They work well and are especially great if you’re on a beach or sandy area that doesn’t have the water spouts to help remove dry sand caked sand on your legs, feet etc. I would recommend for beach or lake house getaways.

These are awesome at getting sand off of your body. They come with a nice carrying pouch and caribeaner so you can just clip it on your beach bag for easy finding. When using these make sure the sand is completely dry for best results. I tested it on completely dry, mostly dry and pretty wet sand on my feet. If the sand is pretty wet, it's just going to get the remover covered in wet sand and you are still going to have sand on yourself. It works on mostly dry sand too just not as good. If these do get wet you just let them air dry and they'll be fine. I don't know what type of powder is in these but they claim to be talc free. The powder doesn't leave behind any residue or anything so you won't be walking around with white powdery legs and arms. Overall I really like these and think they are a must for beach people.

These are seriously wonderful! The big plus is that they have the small zipper bag and hook to go on your tote or snap on a backpack. The sand remover does not leave any weird or tacky residue on your legs, nor any powdery white finish. It works best on dryish sand. In other words, don't come out of the ocean, walk up to your beach chair, sit down, and start rubbing your feet with this- it will make your sand remover pad soggy and it will have to dry off before you can properly use it again. It won't ruin it, but the key in removing the sand that is stuck on your legs is that the sand is dry or mostly dry. Knock the bulk of the sand off of your body with your hands or towel. THEN use the sand remover pad to gently rub or pat on the areas of your body that have sand stuck to it. It just falls off- amazing! Again- no weird smell or residue is left. I've used on my 7yr and 13yr old boys who have very sensitive skin and had no reactions. I too have sensitive skin and I have experienced no reaction. There are many of these type of products on the market now- but this one is great because it has the storage pouch. Without a pouch, it will release the powder when it's moved or shaken and then that powder will get all over your car/bag/or whatever is near it. I would absolutely pay full price for this and have already purchased them as gifts. If you know someone going on a vacation or are visiting someone who lives near sand- it's a perfect gift. I'm just shocked how much I needed something like this and how much it really works.
