Purchased this for a family member who'd broken the original (also plastic) knob window from a 12-cup "Cuisanart" percolator... and while this knob is indeed compatible with that model's lid, I was informed that its performance leaves something to be desired, as it was explained to me that during the perk-up process some liquid is still leeching through at the base. To be fair, neither of us are able to recall if there was ever a gasket that was part of the originally constructed appliance... but if there was supposed to have been such a thing, considering how much this minuscule accessory costs-- ESPECIALLY when factoring into the equation that this is made entirely of plastic, and not glass --I figure the very least they could do for future customers would be to toss in a cheap rubber gasket as part of the package.

I feel so fortunate to have found this inexpensive percolator top insert for my Cuisinart 12-cup Classic Percolator. It replaces a glass ball that broke & I couldn’t find its replacement on the Cuisinart parts site or eBay without buying the entire coffee pot top for 27-30$.Now I don’t have to junk a fine working percolator for want of a simple part.Amazon does it again!
