Chillsner (2-Pack)

Chillsner by Corkcicle. Just freeze, insert into most standard size long neck beer bottles and never suffer through another warm brew. Respect the beer. Chillsner is perfect for parties, tailgating and pretty much any occasion where beloved beers are enjoyed.

Drink through.

Four flow vents deliver a smooth, consistent flow of perfectly chilled beer with every sip.

Stainless Steel Frame.

Smooth, sturdy stainless steel frame freezes quickly, chills perfectly and cleans easily.

Airtight seal.

Once placed inside your bottled beer, simply press firmly to create an airtight seal.

Thermal Coolant.

Once frozen, proprietary cooling gel transforms Chillsner into an arctic-like cooling device.

Cold Beer. It’s a magical thing. It brings people together, helps them relax, gives “liquid courage”, and is a regular sidekick for many of the good times in your life. That sidekick is to be celebrated.

As much as beer represents these dynamic aspirational things in our lives, it can be finicky. When beer gets too warm, it is harsh, brutal, and generally difficult to drink. In an effort to keep beer time as it should be, we invented the Chillsner. One should not feel pressure to chug a perfectly crafted brew in order to avoid the downside of a warm beer. Beer should be respected and enjoyed at whatever pace is ideal for its consumer.

Warm beer is both a literal and metaphorical buzz kill. We wanted drinkers of a beer to have an effective way to continue to enjoy the experience of drinking beer that was both functionally effective and aesthetically interesting and beautiful (in a “beer” kind of way).

How to Use

Step 1.

Freeze Chillsner for 45 Minutes. Before using, take a drink of beer to make room for Chillsner.

Step 2.

Insert Chillsner into bottle.

Step 3.

Press firmly to create a tight seal. Note: Use caution when first inserting as some beers may foam up slightly.

Step 4.

Enjoy the Chillsner’s drink-through feature and complete coolness.

Seems like a good idea but I was not impressed with the cooling performance.

Bought several and gave as gifts to my friends! I sip my beer and it tends to get warm before I finish it…. But never again! This keeps my beer super cold for 2 hours! And for faster drinkers it can be placed in a new beer and it keeps each one super cold. Highly recommend.

I bought these Chilllsners after I saw them on some new product review show. I tend to buy many different kinds, brands, and flavors of beers to taste test. Some are in bottles and some are in cans. Also, I live about a mile from a great brewery that has a bar and a patio. And of course, they serve beer in pint glasses. So I bought these (used) to try out with bottles and pint glasses. Mostly for when I'm at the brewery drinking from pint glasses and sometimes when I drink at home and use the bottles or pour the canned beer into glasses.First, the basics. Chillsners are machined from stainless steel rods with an opening at the top that you can drink through. You keep them in the freezer and when you open a bottle of beer, you drink down to about the bottom of the neck of the bottle and stick the Chillsner into it until the rubber rings make a seal. (Push hard. If they don't go all the way in, it will leak.) They fit standard bottles well although I have read that they won't fit into certain smaller bottles. I suppose they'd keep very cold if you put them in your beer cooler filled with ice also. They work well to keep a beer colder than usual as you drink it. They work especially well if you use a koozie to keep the beer from warming up while it sits there or while you're holding it. I've finished a beer and the Chilllsner was still colder than room temp. Cold enough for a second beer if you drink fast enough. I don't. The lip at the top is exposed so it's never too cold to touch against your lips. I've never tried them on a warm beer but really, you're trying to cool down 12 ounces of liquid using a 2 ounce steel rod. Thermal dynamics says it won't freeze your beer. But it will still help.I also take mine to the brewery. I use a pint koozie and drop the Chillsner into the glass after I've taken a few sips. It helps keep the beer colder for longer than usual. More than half an hour for me, even though as you drink, the top of the rod is exposed more to the air and warms up. You just have to get in the habit of holding it in place while you drink, like it's a large straw. Most people ask me if it's a thermometer and I have to explain what it is. One of the bartenders is so impressed with it that she tells everyone about it and says people are buying it because of that. Corksicle can thank me for a few extra sales for that one.One a regular day, two Chillsners will last through three pints. On a hot day, it's one per pint while sitting outside. The only negative I can say, as others have also commented, is that the Chillsners themselves are excellently made but the plastic holder that you're supposed to use to keep them in the freezer is disappointingly cheap. Think plastic boxes for gift items at Christmas cheap. And since these aren't designed for travel, that thing does nothing to keep the Chillsners cold when I carry them to the bar.I've taken that box apart and added insulation (foam egg cartons) inside it to make a sort of portable cooler. That worked OK. Then I put it into the hard cardboard tube that they came in and added more insulation. That works slightly better. Eventually I will take Styrofoam and make a specially designed holder to keep these cold as I carry them to the bar so the second one will stay cold while I'm using the first one. Maybe I'll find a way to add icepacks to that to keep them colder longer. Hmm...there goes my weekend. The only problem with them really is wiping them off after using them to keep them clean for the next beer, or to store them as you carry them home. Not a problem if you're already at home, which is what these were designed for. Since they're stainless steel, they don't carry bacteria and the openings are large enough to clean easily. So I give five stars for functionality and usefulness. Five stars for quality of materials and workmanship. Two stars for inner packaging. And I have to wonder about the rubber gaskets at the top. Once those wear out, these are useless for bottles. I hope you can get more from the company.

I bought three sets for my home and I am quite impressed with them. I am based out in the Caribbean and the temperatures down there while nice can be unforgivingly hot. Having a beer out side in the shade when it is 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 degress Celcius) causes one to race against time to have that beer whole it's still cold and enjoyable. These corkcicle prolongs the coldness of the beer considerably.I advise though:1) That your beer is cold to start with. The thing is design to keep cold beer at a cold temperature for an extended period and NOT to chill a hot beer.2) That the corkcicle is properly frozen as well.3) That you take a generous sip of the beer BEFORe inserting the corkcicle.NOW SIT AND WATCH YOUR BEER BECOMES INSTANTANEOUSLY ICED AND ICE FORMING ON THE CORKCICLESo far I have tried it with Corona, Coors Lite, Presidente and Heineken. It fits and seals well on all with no leakages. Heineken bottles comes with a much shorter neck and so the corkcicle fits a bit angled / slant and touches the bottom of the bottle. Works out great just the same and again no leakages. Given that it fits Heineken I presume it will fit Guinness too.

This item was bought for me as a gift for christmas because my fiancée heard me say I love my beer ice cold!I have to say, what a great item and I never have a cold beer, it's always ICE COLD.I have read the other reviews and they made my quite angry because it is not true. I will explain:The beer does overflow, but you have to expect that as it is displacement, just have a few sips before you put the stick in. Simple. The beer cools down rapidly (as long as the stick has been in the freezer at least 45 mins and goes straight in the bottle) and stays cold until the last sip.I can see where some people are coming from when it doesn't fit bottles, but in actual fact, THEY FIT ALL UK BOTTLES. If you push down firmly to make a tight seal, they fit, they are designed to like this so the beer doesn't spill when you drink. They even fit the small Stella bottles (287ml) but you have to put the stick in at slight angle, but they definitely fit!Another plus is you get two of these sticks, so while you using one, you can immediately use the second one when you finished with the first. Just rinse the used one and put it straight back in the freezer.I really hope this review changes people perceptions, this is a great gift idea!

So, I don't write reviews on Amazon a lot (or in general) but I noticed that this product doesn't have that many, and the ones it does have are a little dubious at best. It's also simple to understand, so why not. Keep in mind that there are cheaper alternatives to this made of plastic, so I am reviewing this product as the higher-quality more expensive option.Construction: The Chillsner definitely looks nice. It has a nice, quality, metal finish that frosts in the freezer before you put it in your beer. Very appealing. There were a few dings and nicks on my Chillsners out of the box, but ultimately that isn't too big of a deal in my opinion. The "CHILLSNER" band on the neck of the device isn't as dark as they make it seem in the pictures. Also, you have noticed from the pictures but the exterior of the device is wavy in appearance. My guess is this is to create more surface area between the device and the beer, which would cool the beer down faster.Function: If you're using this device to keep your already-cold beer cold, then I'm sure it will work well to that purpose. However, if you're like me and you expected it to cool down a room temperature beer (maybe after forgetting to put beer in the fridge for later), you might be disappointed. It won't cool down your beer enough for the outside of the bottle to frost. When I tested it with at 16 oz rootbeer, after 3.5 minutes the liquid was noticeably cooler but not exactly cold. This was after chilling the device for a few hours, which is longer than the 45 minutes that they recommend on the coasters they give you. I'd imagine this would be nice chill temperature for a high quality beer that you don't want to be ice cold, but it's worth noting. Drinking from the Chillsner is obviously different than drinking from a naked beer bottle. The rim is much thicker, and if you're not used to it, it can be easy to spill your beer. Also important to note, you do have to sip some of your beer before using this product to make room for the displaced liquid.Packaging: This is where the Chillsner loses the most points, in my opinion. After spending a decent amount of money for two of these, you would expect that the packaging of the device would reflect the quality of it. Instead, the cylinder that they ship these in looks shiny and cheap (cheaper than a Pringles can). Inside, you get two Chillsner branded coasters with instructions on how to use and clean the product, and you would think that they would make these out of a nice thick material with the hopes that others will see it, being cheap advertising for their product. However, instead they give you flimsy coasters that are almost begging to be thrown in the garbage. Secondly, they give you a kind of plastic rack to hold the Chillsners when they're in the freezer. Including that was a good idea, but in practice the construction of it looks incredibly cheap. The top and bottom of the rack are of decent quality and curved at the outer edges like so: (___). But they used an extremely cheap looking clear plastic that is more commonly used as a "window" on boxes for dolls and other toys as the mid section, and, ironically, it doesn't conform to the shape of the top and bottom very well, instead forming a rectangle [___]. So you might be asking me in your head, "why do you care so much about the packaging, etc". Well, I think it's very important because the packaging should leave you feeling like you have in your hands a very high quality product (which would encourage you to recommend it to your friends), but instead it looks very poorly thought out and corner-cutting. Not what you would expect after paying more for a higher quality item, and not what you would hope for when you're looking for something to buy someone as a gift. The Chillsner was sold out around father's day, so one can assume that it would be a popular gift item, and as such the packaging should be gift quality.Speaking of advertising though, why did they pick a bunch of angsty looking hipsters to model their product? I bet that would be off-putting to the majority of beer drinkers who would buy this product. That's just my personal opinion.Anyway, my overall impression is that this product is nice overall but that it has a few kinks to work out. Thanks for reading.
