Bolted right up worked great and they even give you an extra gear as their cheap plastic gears even in the original equipment

This starter mounts right up with all the same holes and starter cable location.Those who bemoan the plastic gear - that is how meshing gears work. One is sacrificial (starter - plastic) and the flywheel is metal (wins over plastic every time.) One would rather have a starter gear chewed up than the flywheel.As for longevity - I can't see why that's a question from amazon on reviews. I guess I'll log in in three years and let someone know if it has "longevity" .....All and all, quality, hefty product.

Bought for th B&S engine on a used mower I bought CHEAP! The usual clean up, a new battery, new belts, & this starter & I have a good running zero turn mower to do my yard (1/2 acre.) Any body want to buy a lawn tractor?

Not sure how long this will last but old starter was shot. Plastic gear + metal flywheel + high rpm’s = plastic gear probably won’t last long. May swap my old starter metal one if I get boredUpdated review. Original starter had plastic gear! Who would have thought? Starter works flawlessly and mower starts better than it did when new. Plastic gear doesn't matter. Updating to 5 stars
