What a great upgrade for the Breville. Makes using the steam and hot water function much easier. Took less that 10 minutes to install it and was very easy.

Our Breville knob broke and this lever was the perfect fix. It's a little tedious to install but not difficult. Now it's very easy to turn the lever to steam or water.

A must have add on to the machine! It ads convenience and it looks great. You need some slight know how skills to install it but other than that is great. Heavy duty construction and material. Also wanted to add on mine particularly I added some filling/adhesive to the plastic part that comes with the machine to take away most of the wobble. Gotta understand also machine not designed for that lever to be there so you will have very slight almost unnoticeable wobble, even after the filling. Even if you tighten the bolts all the way clearance still there without filling. Added some pictures so you can see it.

I've had my Breville espresso machine for about three years and have always considered getting this lever, but I held off because it seemed like a luxury and not a need. That still may be the case since the standard Breville switch works fine, but wow! This thing works SO much better. It's so easy to move from steam to off, and it looks fantastic. When I first discovered this thing I watched some videos on how to install it, and to be honest, part of why it took me so long to buy one was because it looked difficult and I was afraid I'd break my machine. Those fears were totally unwarranted though because it's super easy to install and didn't take much time at all.

Keep in mind that this is primarily a cosmetic mod, with a modest functional improvement. Some complain about a wobble. Being a lever, if not used properly you are applying significant leverage to a component of the machine that is not designed/engineered for that. The switch mechanism in the Breville machine is mostly plastic and not anchored to the case.If you try to use the handle as you would the handle on a slot machine, you are applying too much leverage. Rather, use this as if it were an extended knob and not a lever. When I want to push it backward, I place my index and middle fingers on the back of disc portion and have my thumb positioned on the base of the lever, and push. When I want to pull it forward, I place my thumb and middle fingers on the front and back up the disc portion, and put my index finger on the base of the lever, and pull forward. When you used it this way, you will generate just enough small leverage to more easily change positions than with the stock knob. But not so much leverage that you are putting stress on the switch, and creating a wobble. The handle is a solid and heavy piece. It is very easy to install. It enhances the appearances of the machine, and makes it somewhat easier to change switch positions. If you have realistic expectations, you will be pleased. Installation is easy so don't let fear cause you to buy one of the cheap levers that attach to the knob.

I managed to get this when the price was lower and it's 100% an improvement over the stock dial. There are several YouTube videos showing how to install it and it's very easy.

The plastic steam nob that came with the unit takes some torque to turn while the aluminum Crema steam lever is effortless. It adds a really nice aesthetic to the unit as well. The only criticism I have is that it wiggles a bit once installed. Moving the lever fore-aft is not a problem but I would be wary of pushing up or down on it with any force. I would suggest the manufacturer provide a spacer of some sort to reduce the gap between the lever and the machine's body. The instructions are clear enough, however the it says to press the plastic retainer knob down and back to release the old lever. The photos on the instructions on the Crema website are a little murky so I had to fumble around awhile to find the right spot to pop the old nob off. In any case, it's a nice addition.

Like others have eluded to this is an option that should be a factory option, even if it’s an upsell. That said, this product is just as others have mentioned. It looks great, improves feel the feel, but has one major flaw (it’s wobble).I did purchase this knowing it would need to be modded with the o-ring trick as mentioned. I used two from the kit I found to get my desired fitment. It’s worth noting that I placed them into the opening prior to snapping the level in place.I had to try a few times to get an alignment that is not perfect but works really well. All I wanted to do is take up the slack and what I ended up with works to my liking, taking away most of the wobble. This is definitely not hard but I can imagine it being tricky for anyone who is shy of a screwdriver, releasing retention clips, or just don’t consider themselves handy. Just search online for a video to see if you’re up to it.

This steam lever is solid and very well made. It makes use of the steam wand and hot water so much easier and more controllable, especially for arthritic fingers. The design makes it look as though it is original equipment and fitting is relatively easy
