Product Description

3.5mm Audio/MIC Selector

Cubilux AS-J3 3.5mm Audio/MIC Selector lets you effortlessly switch between both audio and MIC signals. Whether you are gaming, streaming, recording podcasts, or attending online meetings, this versatile selector ensures seamless management of both your audio and mic for a flawless experience.

Supports Microphone Signal

Unlike typical audio switchers, the Cubilux AS-J3 allows you to switch microphone signals, such as headsets with built-in microphones, enabling seamless transitions during online meetings or gaming chats.

Note: Please use the included TRRS to TRRS audio cable to connect the switcher to your computer for microphone switching. Standard TRS audio cables do NOT support microphone switching.

Bidirectional Design

Bidirectional Design

The Cubilux AS-J3 is built for ultimate flexibility with its bidirectional design. Whether you need to switch from 1-input to 2-output or 2-input to 1-output, this switcher adapts seamlessly to your setup, giving you the freedom to manage your audio and mic signals just the way you want.

How to Use?

  • Use a TRRS to TRRS (4-pole) audio cable to connect the switcher to the combo jack (headphone/microphone combo port) of your computer. Only with this setup can the switcher support both audio output and microphone input.

  • If a TRS (3-pole) audio cable is used, or if the switcher is connected to the computer’s line-out, only audio output will be supported—microphone input will not work.
  • This product does not support connection to dedicated mic-in or line-in ports.

Intuitive Controls for Audio Management

Intuitive Controls for Audio Management

This product features a range of convenient buttons and knobs for precise audio control.

Please Note:

Volume Knob – Adjusts the volume of your headset. 1) This knob only controls the headset volume and does not affect your computer's system volume. 2) It can only reduce the volume based on the current system output and does not amplify sound.

Headphone Mute Button – Mutes the audio output to your headset. This function only mutes the headset and does not affect your computer’s audio output.

Compact & Durable Aluminum Alloy Design

Built to withstand the rigors of everyday use, the Cubilux AS-J3 is encased in a sleek, compact aluminum alloy that offers both style and strength. Its premium construction ensures long-lasting performance, while the lightweight design makes it easy to carry and set up anywhere. Whether at home, on the go, or in a professional setting, this switcher delivers reliability and durability in a portable form.

FAQ

Q: Does this switch support powered microphones? A: No, this switcher is intended for use with standard headsets or computer microphones. It does not support microphones that require external power or amplification.

Q: What should I do if there’s no microphone signal? A:

  • If you're using a TRS microphone, connect it to your computer’s MIC jack (usually marked in pink) using a TRS to TRS cable (not included).
  • If you're using a TRRS microphone, use the included TRRS to TRRS cable and plug it into the combo jack (marked with a headset icon).

Q: Why is my microphone not working / not being detected by the system? A: Mixing TRS and TRRS connections can cause compatibility issues. Computers often prioritize the TRS signal, which may prevent microphone input from being detected. To avoid this:

  • Make sure the switch is set to the TRRS side before connecting the cable.
  • Avoid switching back and forth between TRS and TRRS devices, as this can confuse the system’s audio detection.

For best results, use matching formats on both ends—either TRS to TRS or TRRS to TRRS.

5/5 Dual 3.5mm Line In/Out Switch that works great!Pros:-Excellent build quality. All buttons feel great when pressed and are very responsive.-Audio quality is great for a switch. There is always going to be some degradation using a device like this, but I would say it is minimal for this device.-Works just as expected to switch/ change volume/ or mute the audio input or output.Cons:None!

I have a home setup for teleworking where I use a work laptop and a personal PC, and use a headset for audio and mic. I want to listen to audio from my PC, but then switch over to to the work laptop when a Teams call comes in. This device is great. With a single button press I can switch from my headset being connected to the laptop or desktop.Only downsides are that I can't tell just by looking at it which device is selected.

I got this audio switch box for connecting a PC and TV to desktop speakers, without interference between the two. It works great for this, and I don't need a ground loop isolator anymore. Controls are easy to operate. It's well-built and runs smoothly, and a nice size for the desk. This is a good value for a switcher or to solve some ground-loop problems without audio the degradation an isolator adds.I've tested and this FULLY disconnects the inactive input, INCLUDING ground; all four connections (ground, left, right, mic) are switched. Other switchboxes I've used connect grounds, which caused interference that only a ground loop isolator could eliminate (but that reduced low-frequency response). This switch box eliminates my need for a ground loop isolator, without any audio degradation. In my case connecting either input to the speakers was fine, but having them both connected to a switch box that bridged grounds is what caused the interference between them. Case is not grounded, for some reason. Seems like it should be to reduce interference.Mic worked fine on a pair of earbuds. Resistance from mic in to out was 100 ohms, and it seems there's a large capacitor across the output, not sure what for.Volume control is a 1K potentiometer. At maximum, it only adds a couple of ohms resistance to channels. Neither will affect audio quality.I can confirm that case screws shear and break when trying to open case. I very gently turned one of the screws and loosened it, and it broke in the middle, so I can't screw it back in and I can see the other end inside. This is clearly by design, and unfortunate, since it prevents any repairs or improvements (like grounding the case).

This does what its says it will do on the package. It's enclosed in a nice aluminum box, and at first glance seems its fairly high quality.I wanted to take a look inside to see the quality of construction. I found four screws under the rubber feet, but found out the hard way that's a one-way trip. All four screws twisted apart and snapped. It appears that there was some sort of permanent glue used in the threads in the case. This is kinda stupid since it did not take much force to snap the screws they were so soft. All the glue does is make if very difficult to reassemble.Another side-effect of the destructive tear-down is if for some reason a repair needs to be made in the future, which considering the internal build quality would not be a surprise. The soldering was not great, though serviceable for lead-free. I could see this being a potential QC issue or failure point. Additionally, the solder flux was not cleaned off the board. That's usually a sign of sloppiness, even if so-called "no-clean" flux was used.In the end, it will serve the purpose I'm looking for, and that is to make a digital interface for ham radio similar to a RigBlaster, but for less money. Its just unfortunate that disassembly was somewhat destructive.

Mute button does not work. The rest of the build is actually pretty nice and heavy metal.
