Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Honda Passport (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 750 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 6,000 lbs. WD and 750 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

Hitch is high quality and was a perfect fit on 2025 Passport. Easy to install with one helper...about 20 minutes install time. Quality hardware came with hitch.

If you're installing this yourself, I'd highly recommend getting a friend and a good jack. Put the jack in the center, each guy hold up an end, and start your bolts. Torquing the bolts down was the hard part for me. 136 ft lb requires quite a tug on that torque wrench! I'm not sure I got each one that tight, because I was afraid of shearing the bolts, so I used a paint marker on each bolt to show its current position. I'll check occasionally to make sure they're not backing out.

In my experiences Curt hitches are a go to when I need a trailer hitch. When you order the right one for your make and model vehicle, it installs with ease. When you order the wrong one it returns with ease also. Curt is a great company to work with.

I was not aware my passport didn't have a trailer hitch when I bought it. I definately needed one and the dealer was going to charge me 500 bucks to add one so I thought I would research how hard it would be to do it myself. I found this and many people said it was an easy bolt in install. The hitch came well packaged and ontime. The install took me about an hour doing it by myself in the driveway. The hitch itself weighs almost 50 pounds. Not overly heavy but not light either. So what I did was use blocks to prop up each side of the hitch in the general location. Then I just alligned the bolt holes and hand started each bolt. Note: one of the 6 bolts (back most passenger side) was not a perfect fit at first. I was thinking I would going to have to do a little grinding to get the hole to allign and then realized it was just at a very slight angle. So I removed the passenger front bolt (leaving only the middle bolt to hold hitch up) and then carefully started the threads on both the front and back bolts. Once I did that, it was pretty straight forward to tighten up each bolt. I did use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the specs. If you don't have a torque wrench, the local auto stores have tools to rent cheap or even free sometimes. The finished hitch is rock solid and I saved myself about 250 bucks by doing it myself. If you can't confidently lift 50lbs, might want to use a helper with the job and be careful when bracing up the hitch as 45lbs could cause an injury if you let it fall on you. I used bricks and a 2x6 board which worked really well.

First off, I'm not very mechanically inclined, so take everything I say with a grain f salt. :)This is definitely a two-person job and a third would have been helpful. Having a heavy duty car jack is definitely a plus, almost a necessity, in my opinion. You'll need a 22mm socket and I recommend using a heavy-duty 1/2inch wrench and also having a 6 inch extension as the space under the car is cramped. Before starting, I recommend cleaning the screw holes in the car's chassis, where you will mount the hitch. This is actually stated in the instructions, but who reads the instructions? LOL I found that spraying a lubricant and then actually running a bolt into each of the holes first made the process easier, especially since my car is a few years old and there was some rust and grime in the holes. While the hitch lines up perfectly with the factory holes on the chassis, because of the position of the of the exhaust pipes, I couldn't lift the hitch straight up and into place. It took two of us, laying on our backs, to position the hitch past the exhaust pipes and bumper. We then used crates and wood to keep it in place. I stayed under to ensure it stayed aligned, while my friend used the heavy duty jack to get it close enough. I don't like metal on metal, so I actually added 1/2 inch rubber grommets between the chassis and the hitch, so they may have added to the challenge on my end, but with a bike rack and a few bikes hanging off of the end of this thing, I figured rubber cushioning couldn't hurt. The instructions recommend using a torque wrench, which I don't have, but I used a breaker bar to give me the extra leverage I need to get the bolts as tight as possible.Ultimately, it took me longer than expected, as I had to get the 22mm socket. Initially, I went with a deep socket and then ended up buying a normal depth one and a 6 inch extension, which I found worked better.Ultimately though, I'm happy with the fit and overall quality, as Honda wanted an insane amount of money to buy it from them and have them install it. I don't plan on towing anything, as I basically just needed it for a bike rack and a hitch mounted storage rack I use when I go camping, so I could have done with a lighter weight one, if I had found it. But, as I said, I'm ultimately happy with the purchase and it's not too hard to install, with the right tools and additional helping hands. :)

Installed perfectly on my 2021 Passport in about 20 minutes by myself. Finish appears great, Absolutely no complaints. Get your hands on a good torque wrench, the bolt tighting is to 136 ft lb. I took it to 120 with my 18 inch wrench and feel that is likely adequate given I never haul a trailer at the limit of my vehicle.

The hitch did not came on a box or with any protective packaging. There were already some scuff when I got it dropped at my door. All hardware and instructions were tightly tucked and taped with the hitch. I installed this with the aid of a jack, and with my son assisting. I was able to install 5 out of the 6 bolts. The last bolt hole did not properly line up by a smidge, and that was enough for it not to thread the bolts in. I had to shave some material off the opening of the hitch in order for the bolt to go in straight and grab the threads - why I gave it 4 stars.

This product fit just the way it’s supposed to. Bolted right to my frame with no issues. Pretty easy installation. Will have to buy a separate wiring harness if you want trailer lights.

A Perfect fit for my 2019 Passport Canadian Touring model, ( U.S. Elite ). Installation took me 1 hour. About 1/2 hour of that time was unwrapping the hitch and testing the bolts. I installed it on my own using a milk carton on each side along with some pieces of 2x4 to hold the hitch in place. The tolerances on the hitch are as good as it gets, much better then expected. The powder coating is also exceptional. The hitch looks great installed. Oh, and big bonus, the kick sensor still works, kicking from the right side and sweeping to the left. The hitch does sit a couple inches lower then the OEM Honda one. My reach and ball have a 2 inch rise. Overall savings are over $1,000.00 compared to Honda. OEM Honda with hitch, wiring, with reach, ball and cover, all installed, taxes included is $1,465.00. My cost for all parts including wiring and even some extra goodies $455.00.
