I just installed and tested this product. There is a short video on YT that has a white Tacoma on a lift that walks you through the process, very straight forward. For the most part it's a plug and play. I could not be happier with the end result. 5 stars all day.

This awesome add-on vehicle-side trailer tail light wire harness fit our '23 Tacoma SR. Since the truck came with no towing package, we decided to add this. Pretty quick and easy for a person with OK to moderate mechanical capability. We were greatly aided by a YouTube video dated July 27, 2020 by the poster: CluEngineer. We also made the upgrade to an OEM style truck-side connector, as was done by CluEngineer in his video.

Easy installation! I just YouTubed etrailer.com Toyota Tacoma wiring harness and watched a great 12 minute video. The instructions are a little confusing so watch that video! Don't forget to grab a 4 pin trailer wiring tester here on Amazon, they're only about $6 and totally worth the peace of mind. Enjoy!

I had no real dislikes with this product. My truck wasn't wired for towing. So that's why I bought this, along with 2 other products so my truck will be all set to light up the camper for hauling. I've had previous experience in wiring a vehicle, so Installation was fairly easy.

The instructions are thorough enough. This is best for someone who has some experience working on cars. You don't need to be a pro but this probably shouldn't your first vehicle wiring job. I installed it on my new Tacoma and didn't have to drill any holes. There was plenty of room for the module inside the left taillight housing. I enclosed all the wiring inside wire loom that I got from a discount hardware store. I also bought and used lots of ties. Now thinking of installing brakes so I can pull heavier loads, and wishing I had done the brake installation at the same time.

I have installed several Curt wire harnesses and have always had good luck with them. Much better than the old splice way. Here are some tips. First, I do not like crimped connectors. I have seen too many come apart. I solder all my connections and cover in heat shrink tubing. Maybe it is overkill, but I have never has a soldered connection come apart. Second, the two way tape they give you is not the best quality. Get a roll of 3M Heavy Duty mounting tape and it will stick on good and solid. Third. I cover all my wires with the black wire loom/tubing to protect them. I can't imagine letting these wires be exposed under the vehicle etc. Get some tubing in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch diameter. You'll need 20 feet of the 1/4 for the power wire that needs to go to the battery. Next - The kit comes with 8 or so wire/zip ties. I used like 50. Get yourself a bunch of zip ties in various sizes. I have a supply of hundreds and use them all over the house. Next-pack the connector pin holes with Dialectric grease to prevent corrosion and keep out moisture to prevent problems in the future. Regarding the ground, there is a bolt end protruding into the tail light cavity on my Tacoma. Get a nut that fits it and a washer. Clean off the paint where the ground lug will contact it and there is your ground without drilling any other holes into your vehicle. Have fun!
