It's a clipboard. I was a bit concerned about the really smooth texture being an issue, every once in awhile something like that is harder to write on. Not the case with this one. It's pretty lightweight, but, it works fine for the 10 or so sheets I need to keep on a clipboard. Has a small loop at the top to hang it. Holds papers firmly and it hasn't dropped any yet. It's a standard size clipboard, color is true to image.
