The pull was too short on my 97 HD Heritage Softail, and wouldn't fully engage the choke. I would have returned it, but I waited to long to install it... my own stupidity.

The threads on top by adjuster knob are metal as pictured .Plastic knob tensioner works great.It does seem 1 or 2 " long but works good. The rubber boot at carb wanted to pull apart there a couple times. I just used a small wire tie as a clamp to stop that from happening. I've bought several cheaper plastic ones over the years. Spend the extra $5 and get one made out of metal that stays pulled out when you need it too . It's worth it !!!

This choke cable will only work in 2 positions. Full choke or no choke. There is no in between. Basically useless.
