This product works. You do have to be patient. We needed to come down by 115 ppm. It took almost 2 months. The directions are simple.Place the product in the skimmerChlorine under 1Pump running 24/7 at 1500rpmRinse it off once a week for about 15 minutes (just set a hose on it and let the water run through it.I recommend doing this during the cooler months so you don't miss out on any swimming. If you have two skimmers, you might consider using two of these.

Ive tried this and other acid reducers and the only thing that has worked is draining the pool.

Yes, it reduced my cyanuric acid from 165 to 145 over a 6 week period…. But you can put so little chlorine in the pool that algae becomes a problem. Then you have to spend a lot of money on algicide and it’s a total cluster.. I borrowed a sump pump drained 2/3 of the water from my pool put some acid chlorine tabs. little bit of shock back in and two days later acid was back to 30 and the pool was great so don’t buy this worthless bag .

I tried another product in the past to remove Cyanuric Acid that did not work, but I thought I would give this product a try especially since Leslie's Pool is now selling this product. This product also did not work. It reduced the Cyanuric Acid a little and that could have been from the rain. I will be going back to partially or completely draining the pool every two years.

Once I lowered my PH as recommend on the instructions to 7.3 my CA started to lower and after 2 weeks went down 50 percent, also you have to watch the amount of leaves and other stuff that gets in your basket skimmer it reduces the flow through the bag. Worked great and did not have to drain my pool wasting 10,000 of water!!

This filter works so much better than chemicals I've used in the past. As long as you're ok knowing it's not an instantaneous fix, you should try it! I put it in the skimmer and turned my pump way down like the directions say. I forgot to take the tablets out of the chlorinator, so it took a few days before I realized that and fixed it on my end. The CYA started coming down right away! I saw a big jump at first (30 ppm in just a few days) and then steadily dropping about 20 ppm each week when I tested it again. I'm using my second box for maintenance so that the CYA doesn't start climbing again. Highly recommend!

Used another competing product 3 times over two years with 0 reduction in CYA so decided to give this product a try. The method used by this product, CYA being trapped in or bound to the filter media, has more chance for success than the competing method of biological consumption, which seems to need a ideal environment to work. My initial CYA was around 140 and reduced to about 90 in two weeks. What I did:1. Did NOT introduce ANY products containing CYA into the pool water while using this product.2. Turned off nature express mineral sanitizer I use so only water maintenance was manual introduction of liquid chlorine, PH modifier, etc.3. Made sure the pouch had good water flow over it so kept skimmer basket clean on daily basis. Also removed pouch every couple of days and rinsed the cover off to make sure water could flow freely through it and also get any dirt or other residue off the material inside. When I put it back in the skimmer basket I turned it so the opposite side was facing the water flow. Not saying what I did is key to your success but worked for me ;)

This really does work with minimal effort. I took all the advice in the comments into account and came up with a plan. First I stopped using the chlorine pucks with cya in them, and cleaned out any leftover tablets from the chlorine dispenser. I started using liquid chlorine. I did this one week before using the Green Story pouch. I had to bring my calcium hardness down, so I bought a hose end filter (on Amazon about $25) and displaced 600 gallons of water. Because we were having an unusually hot and dry summer, triple digits and no rain for two months, I scooped the pool water in buckets and put it on the lawn. We used pool fountains to cool the pool water but that also raises the ph, so I made sure the ph was balanced and the alkalinity was balanced every day. Because the pool fountains cool the water at night I was running my pump from midnight to 8 PM to keep the water temps down. People say to run your pump 24-7, that certainly may work faster. Then I put the Green Story into the skimmer basket. The only chemicals I used from this point on was the liquid chlorine, muriatic acid, and baking soda. I used liquid chlorine to shock the pool if I needed it. While the pool is filtering out the cya it doesn’t seem to change the level of cya for about three weeks. I tested the cya with reagent once per week and with test strips every day to make sure everything was balanced. As I said it didn’t seem like anything was happening for three weeks but I did notice a slight drop, but I also thought it could be my wishful thinking. I started with the cya just over 100. I had the water tested before I started with the Green Story at a local pool store which basically used the same reagent test I used. She did not think it was too high although reading over the 100 line. My guess would be maybe 110 to 120. So by week three I saw a little improvement to the 100 mark but wasn’t sure. By week four, one month, I was reading 70. So it seems the Green Story brought the cya down maybe 40ppm. At that point I just took it out. The problem I see is with the reagent tests not being able to read over 100 because you really can’t tell if the Green Story is working. The Green Story brought the cya down, after three weeks.
