Good quantity and shapes. Wish they were a little thinner.

The kids had a blast painting these. A great variety of shapes and sizes. Sturdy and not too dusty.

I got these rocks for a young child to practice her artistic talents on. I guess that I had forgotten that these were actually rocks, because the weight surprised me when I opened the mailing box. The rocks are mostly of uniform shape. They had a smattering of dust on them, probably from rubbing aginst each other int ransport, but the dust was easily wiped away with a damp paper towel. The edges of these rocks are finished just enough so that there are no sharp or jagged edges, but not so much that they seem too smooth and unrealistic. They take easily to crafts paints and markers. They are not so porous so as to suck up the paints as they were applied. The rocks are just the right size for handling, nothing unwieldy for small hands. Overall, very happy with this purchase

So smooth along all surfaces, and nice variety in sizes and shapes. I got these to test out my acrylic markers and all over winter break I painted the rocks as a way to relax and practice mindfulness. I still have a bunch and I'm planning to have a Gal-entines painting fest in February. They do seem to break a little easily, as when someone knock's off the desk but they're so pretty that is okay, I assume fragility is worth it.

I haven't had a chance to paint these yet but can't wait. I discovered there is a Facebook group dedicated to rock painting with some really fun ideas. I've read some other reviews that said they are dusty. Mine are a tiny bit dusty, but seriously just wash them off! You should do this before you paint anyways! My last picture shows the rocks drying. Guess what--got 26 rocks. So if any break (mine did not) you got two extra.

I like these pieces. While irregular in diameter, they share an overall uniformity which makes designing and executing decorations for them simpler, yet satisfying. I don’t care that they aren’t real rocks or stones. In fact, I’m rather horrified by the idea of removing such things from ‘nature’ and selling them, so these, I like. I took off a star because the listing text was confusingly inconsistent about the composition and origin of these pieces.
