I got this “Dad, I Want to Know Your Life Story” journal for my husband, and it turned out to be one of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever given him. The prompts are so well thought out and really encourage him to reflect on and share his life experiences—from childhood memories to fatherhood moments.He’s been enjoying writing in it, and I love that our kids will one day be able to read his story in his own words. The hardcover is high quality and feels like a true keepsake—something we’ll treasure for years to come.This journal has sparked some great conversations between us, and I can already tell it’s going to become a family heirloom. Highly recommend for any dad or father figure—it’s the kind of gift that keeps on giving.

The binding is solid, and this presents well whether you keep it in the box or take it out. I love the personal prompts throughout the book. The questions are thoughtful and cover a wide range of memories.My husband isn't much of a writer, but he is a great storyteller. So the way we plan to use this is...the family will ask the questions out loud, and we can write down his answers together. That way, he is still sharing his story without the pressure of having to sit and write. I want to make it enjoyable and really fun.The question in this book are so good that we all want to participate. So we all will be answer the questions. I think this is amazing.

I received this free Amazon Vine product for review. It arrived quickly, within 2 days of ordering. This is a full sized journal book, approx 10”x7”. It is a black hard cover book with 154 pages, and an attached ribbon book mark. It also comes with a box.There are some odd questions within, but for the most part, a lot of interesting things to learn about dad and to get him reminiscing. It’s a great gift for Father’s Day and a great keepsake to always remember him by.There are a lot of open spaces for dad to write whatever he’d like. Although, it’s probably more useful to a dad that writes for fun, or a sentimental history buff that loves the idea of writing his own story. I don’t know if a middle aged father, who works full time, would be very interested in filling this whole book out. Alternatively, I think some of the questions would be difficult for the typical elder adult to answer unless their childhood memory is amazing. I could be wrong. Perhaps it will awaken the inner child, if they take the questions wholeheartedly.Overall, it is a well made product and a great idea. How much it works as a gift will really depend on the recipient. I am happy with the quality. It seems like it can last for years with the right care and storage. I would certainly recommend purchasing this product if looking for a father’s story book.

This is a great idea for a dad or husband to write things down about events and thoughts he has had throughout his life. There are various prompts that asks questions such as, “if you could relive your childhood for one day, how would you choose to spend it,” or “what did you decide to do after high school, and why.” There are also basic questions about date and time of birth, prices of items, etc.An item like this, filled out by a loved one, will be a family treasure. It also has a nice feeling cover. I don’t know if it is really leather as the description said. It is not marked as such, and does not smell like leather, but has a nice touch.I was disappointed with the misleading pictures that show the book looking like it is really large. At 5 ½ by 8 ¼ inches tall, and about ½ inch thick, it is smaller than shown. There were not any measurements in the description.The gift box it came in was not like the one in the picture with a magnet latch. Instead, it was a shiny cardboard box, with a picture of a bow, that was just big enough for the book to fit into.But the book itself is wonderful, and am happy with it.

This is a beautiful is an absolutely beautiful book to give to a father so that he can share his memories and himself with his children. Firstly, the presentation and packaging for this gift are nice. The book comes in a black and gold cardboard box with a printed bow on it. Simple, but very cute. The book itself is jet black, with gold lettering and crisp, firm pages. My book had some fuzzies on the cover, but I just swiped them away. The contents of the book are lovely. It has sections for fathers to write about their childhoods & teenage years, to give advice, talk about their first loves/forever love, family members (including a family tree section), and answer pre-typed questions. There is a lot for fathers to say and share with their children, it’s a very emotional gift for children to have and feel that they got the answers to some questions that might be too personal for everyday conversation (depending on the family dynamic, of course), and have something to keep forever that really reflects their father’s thoughts and life. I love the idea of passing it down through generations as well, so that grandkids/great-grands can feel connected to their relatives. This is a really beautiful and sentimental present. I got this so that my fiance can fill it out for our children to keep and treasure. It’s moving and something I think every child would appreciate having, just as much as every parent would love being asked to contribute to such a beautiful telling of their history & give advice/share their thoughts for their children to keep with them through the years.
