Get this for my dad as a gift- he loved it! The writing prompts inside were thoughtful and thorough. It would make for a great Father’s Day gift or birthday gift.

My dad is turning 87 soon and I thought this would be a great gift. He loves to tell stories about his youth, so I really thought he might like to write down those memories to leave a record for his family. I'm pretty disappointed in the quality of this book. It's a covered cardboard cover with a spiral binding, which is ok. The pages, however, are thin and more like notebook paper. This isn't the heirloom journal I had hoped he could pass on to future generations. I am giving it more stars than I feel it deserves because it has SO many journaling prompts. Maybe this would be a nice gift for a young father to share stories with his kids in a few years. (He'd need to take care with his ink choice, however, to keep the words from bleeding through the pages.) I do not, however, think this is an heirloom book for older adults to leave as a legacy.

This is a really nice hardback journal that covers the entire life of a loving father. The front & back covers of the journal are really thick helping give protection to the cherished pages inside. The ring binding is made of a hardy metal so it will not bend or beak easily. Any father who can complete a journal like this would be leaving their children such a beautiful, priceless gift. As you can see in the attached photos, the catalogue shows the various life milestones that the journal prompts will cover. I've also included a few random pages to give an idea of some journal prompts. In addition to the various life milestones, it also covers prompts that will give a father the opportunity to share his deepest thoughts including life lessons, moments of adversity, hopes & dreams, as well as self reflections. This would be a great gift not just for first time dads, but for any father. It's a gift that keeps on giving, because #1. it allows dad to reflect on & relive his life, and #2. it leaves behind, not just a piece of Dad, but ALL of Dad, for his legacy to be shared with his children & family for generations to come. It truly is a wonderful journal with some unique prompts.The only thing I'm not a big fan of, is the weight of the paper that they used. The pages are too thin. Because it's a journal, there will be a lot of writing done to it & because these pages are a bit thin, some ink pens can bleed through to the other side, or depending on how much pressure someone uses when they write, it could accidentally carbon transfer some ink from pages already written on. In fact, if you zoom in & carefully look at page 1, the title & opening page, you can see the printing of the other side, which is the "Catalogue" on page 2 (and vice versa if you look at the photo of the Catalogue page that I also attached ). But, despite the pages being a bit thin, overall, it's still a really beautifully published journal that any father would be lucky to have.

What a great product! I love it. Had someone pass in the family recently and regretted not writing everything down. Now my father can leave me and my daughters a bit of everything for those times when it is usually a little too late. It truly is a beautiful gift not only for him but for us. Worth absolutely every penny!

This is a lovely book that I plan to give my father for Father’s Day. It is full of so many interesting questions to help learn more about him. As he has gotten older, he’s started to share a lot more stories with me about his formative years. Hehas led a very interesting life and has always joked that I should write a book about him, so this will give me a head start!I’d also love to give one to my husband. You can’t go wrong with this one!
