(As always, 4 stars means it does exactly what it’s supposed to. No fireworks, but no complaints either. Well... maybe one.)It’s the stuff. It works.I usually go for the cheaper trimmer line, but this one—EGO’s own brand with that special twist design—definitely performs better, especially with their quick-load head. That said, I’ve been having some user error moments with that quick-load feature, so I’m not blaming the string just yet. (More likely, I’m the problem.)Overall, it’s not exciting—it’s just weed eater string. But it does what it’s meant to do: trims the jungle back to lawn status. The twist design seems to last a bit longer and cuts a little cleaner than the budget spools I’ve used.One small gripe: it would be awesome if the spool had a built-in cutter or at least a little hook to hold the string when you're done pulling off what you need. Wrangling the loose end is always just slightly more annoying than it should be.Bottom line: Not glamorous, not thrilling, but it works well. Four stars from me.

When I first received this EGO trimmer line, I was surprised by how small the reel was—it fits right in one hand. At first glance, I honestly thought, "Is this it?" I have a full acre of yard, so I was hoping for something that would last longer and offer more value right out of the package.That said, I’ve used the string twice so far and only had to reload it once. Since I mow weekly and use the string trimmer maybe twice a week, it seems like it will hold up okay for now.One major plus: it handled tall annual ryegrass really well—something my EGO mower would’ve struggled with. In that moment, this trimmer line was a true lifesaver.My only real complaint is the size of the reel. For someone with a bigger yard, it just doesn’t feel like enough to last a whole season. If you have a smaller lawn, it might be perfect. But for larger properties, you might want to stock up or look for a larger spool elsewhere—either online or at your local home improvement store.Final Thoughts: This is a solid, high-performance trimmer line that works great in a pinch. Just know you might need more of it than expected if you’ve got a lot of ground to cover.Happy cutting!
