All you have to do is add the screen as a barrier between the machine and the grounds. I love that I have one less area to clean, I can rinse the puck screen along with the basket and the portafilter, and it doesn’t affect (as far as I can tell) the flavor, aroma, or the crema.I have a pressurized machine and a pressurized basket that came with it (it makes great crema every pull), and a basket that is non-pressurized basket (that tastes great, but without crema). I got the screen puck because I thought… maybe the screen will add a touch more pressure to the non-p basket… and that will add the crema… nope. Oh well. I did test it with the pressurized basket, and it’s fine - perfect crema 🫶. So bottom line: Doesn’t hurt the pull, makes the clean up easier. Worth it!
