Now, im not a professional welder, but I've welded enough aluminum to be confident in doing so. Even after cleaning the fittings, I could not get these to weld. Absolute garbage.

Welds great with no issues, I don't even clean them before welding. Seems to be high quality aluminum.

It’s weldable but it welds dirty and not smooth

These WELD ON fitting are inexplicably anodized. This is a poor choice on Evil Energy's part.Aluminum oxide has melting point that is much, much higher than the parent material underneath. In order to weld aluminum it is necessary to strip the oxide layer away. With TIG welding this is done using AC (Alternating Current).Normally the oxide layer is very, very thin...on the order of just a few atoms. Anodization is a process that builds up a much thicker layer of aluminum oxide. Thick enough that it renders the material essentially unweldable unless the anodization is mechanically scraped away first.TL;DR: This Evil Energy "weld on" fitting is anodized rendering it effectively unweldable without significant prep work to remove the anodization first. After spending way too much time filing and sanding, the 5/8 fittings I bought did weld acceptably.
