I had an 3500 Extreme Max winch that had internal failure of an axle likely from winch cable binding and breaking free while lifting my boat. The 4000lb is built much better, heavier and larger. Will need to drill holes to make it fit my boat lift post.

I meant to buy the 4000 lb version, but when I clicked on the link in my saved items section, this one popped up and I didn't notice it was the heavier one. Not a big deal, but the hole pattern was slightly different than my original winch.This winch is super smooth and works great.
