This plate took damage (small indentations) from 5.56 FMJ ammo (55gr, lead core, copper jacket) at 100 yards. That should not happen. It will still work for other things, but I'm pretty disappoint in this performance.

If you are looking for perfect laser cut circles this item is not for you. If you are looking for high quality AR500 targets for a very reasonable price, these are for you. These appear to be hand cut, so they aren’t perfectly round, but I only use them to shot lead at so they work for me. If you plan on using these to solve geometry problems, I suggest another brand. Again, they are hand made, so the holes aren’t perfect, but I place them on Shepard Hooks and they hang perfectly fine with no modifications or filing. If you read the description the seller explains he cuts these underwater, which can generate some oxidation to the raw metal, leading to surface rust. The rust is easily removed with an all purpose cleaner & a little wipe down or a quick sanding. For a little extra touch after you clean them, you can purchase some spray paint and make them any fabulous color your heart desires. These are pit free and deburred so prepping is easy enough and minimal. If you want to support an American Small Business and enjoy a great product at a reasonable price then these are the way to go! If you need perfectly cut circles that are already powder coated then you should move on to the more expensive ones.

Definitely worth the money, but watch your shots. I had a bullet hit the area around the mounting hole (had gong hanging from Shepard's hook) and it caused a crack the entire thickness of the steel. I don't know if it was the .223 or the .308 I was shooting that caused the crack (I'm thinking it was the .223 that caused the crack), but I'll keep using the gong till it fails.**UPDATE**Shot about 100-150 .223 rounds at 100 yards with no problem, but with the crack in the hanging ear part it only handled a couple .308 rounds before that part broke completely away from the main body of the target. In summation, as long as you don't hit near the top where the hole is at, this thing should last a long time.

Honestly I should have ordered one with two holes for mounting. This one with the single hole flops all around and is never facing forward.

These steel targets are fantastic for hanging out on a Shepard hook and plinking all day long! They come in not painted. Pistol calibers and 22LR won't do any damage to these steel gongs, but be sure to be at least 50 yards out for rifle cartridges. 5.56 dented the metal some at 50 yards. Great value for the money and loads of fun!!

Good for pistol, but questionable for rifle. At about 25 yards, my 556 AR damaged these targets. Center hits caused dents and hits around the edges actually took small chunks out of the targets.

This is one tough target. I expect it to last many years with constant use. Of course it's steel, so you will need to paint it to keep it from rusting at first. But as you use it, it will get a coating of copper and lead on it that will help protect it too. After seeing the quality, I plan to order a dozen more of these. With a few cans of paint I won't ever have to buy another target again.Update. After 30,000 rounds of Handgun rounds from 9mm to 44magnum and even 50AE. This still looks good. I think it will last forever under these conditions. The only way it will ever fail would if it were allowed to rust constantly, even then it may last 20 years. Also ran 30-30, 30-06 and 308 at 50 yards to 150 yards without serious wear. These are GREAT Targets!

Very sturdy, barely blemished by any handgun ammo from .380 to .45 @ 30'. Would only be better if the hanging hole was sideways so the shepard's hook hanger could be positioned to the side to avoid getting hit. Welding a large nut to the edge opposite resolved this, but how many people have a buddy that can do that?
