this is a clever idea: each page of the "book" has a larger hole, so you can see glimpses of the pages below it, and reveal the images as you flip through. there are little cutouts to glue on as you see fit, and the set comes with paint sticks and a water brush to make for a watercolor look.in practice, however, there are major flaws.1. the cardstock is way too thin. this means that it tears when punching out the little shapes, and worse, it warps when the water brush is used, so it won't lie flat.2. there are not enough pages. you only get four pages, which really minimizes the effect. at the very lease, a cover should have been included, to protect the delicate edges of the holes.3. the cutouts are nowhere near as detailed as the marketing images suggest, and there are only a handful of them. this makes it hard to have much customization, especially since the paint doesn't allow for fine details.4. the paint/water brush are cool, but there's a steep learning curve, and again, the water severely warps the paper.overall I am pretty disappointed, and at its current price (~$20 with a $3 coupon) this is incredible overpriced. you'd do better to just buy cardstock from a craft store and cut your own designs and use cardboard for your covers. for this set, you're also better off just using normal markers to color it, because at least then you won't get the warping.

Mid weight cardstock, great watercolor crayons, better than average water brush, sticky glue dots (my grandkids LOVE these)……this is a really fun art project! There are a few things to know that will give you more success.I LOVE art and have lots and lots of art ‘stuff’ and have learned a few tricks here and there…… instead of using the watercolor crayons directly to paper (this gives a streaky effect on this cardstock), instead, scribble the crayon onto a plain white plate. The water brush is easy to use——to open it just turn it to the LEFT and fill with water. No leaking with this pen… awesome! Pick up the watercolor scribbles from the plate with the water brush and paint up your cardstock. It just takes 15 minutes or so to dry.I also used a pencil very lightly on the back of each page to not only give it a number but also so when you put it together you know which is the front and if it is the top or bottom. When doing projects with my grandkids, one is very enthusiastic and stuff goes everywhere.The characters and pieces easily punch out from the pages and can be painted on top of paper towels or a plate for ease of cleanup. The backgrounds of all the pages can be done this way. This is a very simple and easy to do craft with everything that you need included. Clean up is also easy. I got this one because my 6 year old grandchild loves Pokémon characters and this is somewhat similar.If you have never used watercolor crayons, they are fun and easy to do. With water they turn into paint or you can also just use them as a crayon. Very creamy like a lipstick.Love this kit and perfect for my 6 year old art loving kiddo!

There are 4 pages in the box. The have punch outs. There are 2 rings to bind the booklet and markers for coloring. Color the pages, put the booklet together and glue the butterfly punchouts on the pages. It is like a cheap activity you could grab for way cheap. It is Not really worth it.
