I have a 2012 Ford Focus and the radiator fan wouldn’t the off after the car was off. It also turned on at random times when the driver door was open?? This part fixed that issue and the car is back to normal.

The high speed fan would stay on even after the ignition switch was turned off. There is not a separate relay for the fan. The relays are built in this fan-mounted module powered by the PCM. After realizing this in the wiring diagram, I decided to perform a tap test. I got the engine warm, the high speed fan turned on, and I turned off the ignition. As the fan ran, I grabbed a wrench to tap the module. One tap, the fan turned off. I replaced the module with this part and the concern has not occurred since.

One week of absolute BLISS was brought with this cooling fan sensor for my 2012 Ford Focus. Perfect! No overheating! Air conditioner blowing ice cubes like the good ol' days! AMAZING!Then came last Thursday...sigh.... Started the car at 6pm and noticed immediately no cold air coming from the AC vents. The system was set on Max. Cooling and nada. Then, while stopped at a red light...an overheat. The gremlins were back. ARGH!!! Maybe it's a different part failure in additions to this cooling fan sensor...then again maybe this sensor was defective. I'll write the seller to see if they'll replace it.If anyone knows a source for this OEM part only (Motorcraft or BOSCH), let me know!

I've read all negative reviews how this doesn't work outright and fails often. So far it's works fine same as OEM, provides progressive speed fan control, installed Dec'23.Mazda doesn't sell this unit alone, they sell OEM whole fan unit w plastic shroud for ridiculous price.Would recommend.

The item arrived three days ahead of schedule (all the way form USA to corrupt, virtually non-existent-postal-service South Africa) - very impressive!! Installed it in my car (quite easy installation), and my Ford Focus ST's thermo fan has been quiet ever since (like it should be) - no unnecessary turning on and off, etc. It seems that because the fan was coming and off at the wrong times, and not keeping engine cool as it should be, it caused my engine to go into "limp mode", temporarily...quite scary - I thought I had major turbo issues!! But, all good now. Will definitely buy from this seller again...!!
It's all good

I was a little unsure about getting this little gadget because it's not from Ford. I own a Ford Focus SE 2012. It worked perfectly when I hooked it up. Time will tell if it lasts. But for the price of what they wanted for the Ford brand I was willing to take a chance. It works. That's all that matters. If you're on the fence, take the chance. Mine is working just as it should. Cheers

Going to go do my do-diligence as a consumer and write this review for those who are also having absurdly weird car problems that aren't easily diagnosable .Turning on my car, the radiator/AC fan on my 2013 Mazda 3i would slightly twitch, then stop moving immediately after. AC would just blow, and not blow cold until I was at city->highway speeds, where proper airflow was going through the rad. Saw some people mention stuff about temps being weird.. my car doesn't have a temp gauge, so I haven't been able to see if that would effect my car at idle, but most probably it did. OBD2 reader on my car gave P0480 code, which led me to the fan control module. Before buying this part, my brother and I quickly wired the fan directly to the battery, and it span just fine, quickly leading us to the fan control unit...Buying this fan control unit, and quickly swapping it out with my old one yielded successful, and my cars AC now works, and the fan properly spins. This was cheap and not first party, so the durability of this part is questionable still, but for right now... my car has functional AC that blows cold, so I'm happy.Written 10/6/24. If I run into issues I'll be sure to update this for future readers!

Say what you will about knock-off electronics, when they work and do what is intended then they are well worth the money. I only just realized that I've had a bad control unit for about 2 years... and guess what? droF
