On OS30725R the big extended tabs on this gasket POINT TOWARDS THE OIL PAN.OS30725R can be installed upside down. The holes will still match if you flip it.On trucks, you may have to jack up the engine and remove the engine mounts. Its a pain.OS30725R has two little bitty tiny extensions that face towards the engine. They will be just outside of the engine in front, by a tiny margin. If you flip this over so that these tabs are facing the oil pan, you won't get a good seal.OS30725R also has a third little tab that is designed for the rear of the gasket to keep it spaced properly. This tab goes inside the engine and keeps the gasket centered. This little tab GOES UP AND TOWARDS THE ENGINE AS WELL.

So as other here, I bought this to correct a leaky oil pan gasket on a Ford 4.6 DOHC engine installed in a Lincoln Continental. The gasket was as close to OEM as it gets (I actually think these are repackaged OEM gaskets to begin with.) Installed easily and with no issues. Have some oil resistant RTV for the corners of the rear cover and front cover. Just a little bead will do. Now here’s the informative part! This gasket comes with a small O ring in a plastic bag within the package. The box calls it out as “oil filter adapter” gasket. Not true. The oil filter adapter has three O rings. Not one. What is it for you ask? THE OIL PICKUP TUBE! I wish I had know this when I had the pan off. Oil pickup tube screen was spotless, so I had no reason to remove it. If I had, I would have discovered the O ring on the flange end of the pickup that bolts to the oil pump and swapped out the seal. It would have been nice to replace this 22 year old O ring, but I guess I can always go back and do it at a later time if it doesn’t cause an issue. I hope this helps someone else when performing this job. I just wish I knew about it before I did!

Great oil pan gasket,I am disappointed that it was made in china but other than the fact it was just sitting in a cardboard box with no other protection it worked great.
