This works well as a WDT tool and I love the fact that it is retractable. It is a decent value for the money and seems to be well built. If you however have large hands you should possibly look for one which is a bit longer...Not the most ergonomic tool for people with sausage fingers ;)

This is a nice compact WDT tool. I actually have two of these style distributors, plus a homemade one. I prefer the professionally made ones to my 3d printed one. This one has nice thin needles, (not sure if they are actually 0.4mm as stated.....the other distributor I have from a different mfr says it does, but they are significantly thicker). The handle is a bit shorter than I'd prefer, but is fine for the purpose. The button causes the needles to fall down into position, then a flip or shake causes them to retract up and be held magnetically. I was afraid that gravity alone wouldn't be enough to keep the needles extended while stirring, but that's a non-issue, they hold just fine. The magnetic holder is nice too, with 3M VHF (or knockoff that works as well) tape on the backside to stick it to a cupboard/wall/whatever. Something about the size of it makes me wish it was about 3/4" longer, but it's not worth dropping a star over.

Works fine. Comes with a magnetic holder which I opted to place on the side of my espresso machine. If you're like me and decide to position it vertically, sometime when you grab it from the holder, the needles will come out without pressing the button on the back. It comes with extra needles but without instructions, I'm not sure how to change them.

This works well. It came packaged plainly, including extra needles. No instructions were included. I figured it out myself, but cleaning the needles before using the unit revealed where some instruction would have really helped - I figured it out through trial and error. My tip: after unscrewing the needle cap on the bottom, you can get the needle assembly out and run the needles under water. Dry them and then when you're reading to put the assembly back, thread the needles through the cap first, then while holding the main unit upright with the button on top, screw in the needle assembly (cap with the needles now protruding). The holder is nice - it magnetizes to the metal of my espresso machine, and the WDT tool magnetizes into it. Keep in mind, you want the WDT tool's topmost section to magnetize to the holder. If the holder is holding the unit a little further down, the needles will protrude at the bottom and you could get an unpleasant pricking when you go to get the tool out of the holder. I don't think you'll break skin, it just isn't pleasant. The tool has a nice weight and the stirring action, helped by the even spreading of the needles, is very smooth. I like the retracting action. A nice metal build and the lattice pattern adds a nice visual touch. I deducted one star for the lack of guidance - otherwise this would earn 5 stars.
