However, there is no easy way to attach much needed filters, such as a UV or Neutral Density, to the camera. Our solution a silicone sleeve that surrounds the camera and firmly holds the pre-installed filter in front of the lens. Say goodbye to glare & reflective light. Enjoy the reduced reflection from glass, water surfaces, and even the atmosphere. Colors pop with crisp contrast. This CPL filter can protect your camera from dirt, dust and scratches. It also can absorb almost all ranges of glare rays to give clearer and sharper pictures with less haze. Compatible only with GoPro hero & Hero5 Session camera is not included.

while still not perfect, this was the best polarizer filter for the session 4 that i could find on amazon. the camera moves around a good bit inside of the silicone housing, but i will admit that the silicone house is the easiest way for the session to attach (given no exterior mounting points on the session itself). and i was able to cut a piece of the packaging to kinda wedge the camera in more soundly. plus the silicone gives you some thing to grip, so there's an added benefit. i will also comment that the glass of the filter itself developed a small crack after just the first week of use - luckily it's just on the edge for now, but will need to keep an eye on. not perfect, but better for me than upgrading cameras for now.

Was having issues with windshield / dashboard glare when using the GoPro Hero 5 Session as a forward facing dash cam (for content, not as an actual dashcam). I was able to try this little gadget out today, and I'm happy to report it works GREAT for cutting down glare and even seems to improve the color saturation. I did have to experiment with which rotation works best. Really glad I got this!

I have purchased many various items from Fotodiox and have normally been very satisfied with their product. You know there’s a but coming? But, in this case they really missed the boat here. Firstly let’s look at the pros for this; the design is great and the silicon mount which slides over the camera fits really well. How they mounted the glass into that silicon mount also was a great design. But all the best designs in the world means nothing if the glass it’s supporting is substandard. Now the con’s, only one, the glass, which is the major reason for the purchase for anyone is really substandard. I have used CPL filters for more years than I can count both professionally and for fun. I understand how they work and also how the filter is designed. With the gradual polarizing material applied to the glass as you turn it, it will change the polarization of the area you want to cover reducing glare which should reduce it entirely from one side to the other where the polarization was applied. In this case the polarization area was not properly done on this filter leaving areas with in the prescribed area not working properly. It would not reduce the glare uniformly leaving many areas unaffected within the polarization area. A side by side comparison was done using a GoPro Hero 5 with a 52mm cpl from Surewo and the Fotodiox cpl on the Session and the Fotodiox cpl wasn’t even close to the proper operation of a CPL filter expected results. I promptly returned this and continued my search for a different cpl filter system for my Session. Disappointing.

I'm getting into doing fishing videos on YouTube so I needed something to cut the glare down from the water. I have the session 5 and have few options when it comes to filters. I'm so glad I found this one on Amazon. I was concerned about the fit and quality but that quickly faded after I opened the package. I was greeted with a nice sturdy silicone body and a solid metal framed filter. I have the session 5 and it fit in the filter adaptor perfectly while in the gopro cage. I immediately tried it out on car windows and results are promising. I started with a reflection of a van and mirror in the driver window, as I turned the filter with the camera running the mirror disappeared and the van faded to a ghost image. Although the filter spins free enough to adjust it with 1 finger it stays where I set it. The only complaint I have is the securing band blocks the door for charging, and even with the door removed the band is in the way of the charging port. Maybe I have it on wrong but there was not any instructions that I noticed in the package. Some other notes that people may want to know in advance. 1: It does make a squeaking noise as you spin the filter to make adjustments. 2: The filter can pop off of the holder if you pull on it a little. It does take a little effort to pop it off, I don't see it being a problem for my purpose but some may. All in all I'm super excited to see the video quality I get using this filter on the water.
