So far so good

Unit was packed sealed and came with the o-rings. The only thing was the plug that goes on the opposite side of the low pressure switch was on the wrong side and just needed to be switched around. No big deal.

Due to a wiring error on my part I had a hose failure (forgot the temperature sensor), anyway, this is half the price of the local shops, and fits my 1991 Cherokee (XJ) perfectly. I have converted from R12 to R134 without trouble (minus the wire I forgot after cleaning the air box). With the savings on the parts (even replacing this and the failed hose) I'm still well under budget, and I have cold air.Word of caution. This unit is pre-vacuumed to keep the desiccant dry until use, so don't open it until you are ready to assemble the hoses, and immediately vacuum out the system. For a DIY-er this is the basic breakdown of an A/C for reference.Coolant Circuit:A/C pumpHigh pressure hose 1Condenser (in front of the radiator)HP hose 2Receiver-drier (this thing)HP hose 3Expansion valve assembly (aluminum, about the size of a deck of cards on the fire wall) HP hose on the driver side.Evaporator (in cab)Low pressure (suction) hose. This is the largest hose, minus insulation, and is connected to the passenger side of the expansion valve.A/C pump (again)Electrical circuitA/C control boardTemperature cutoff (in cab with evaporator)Low pressure cut off (under hood attached to receiver drier)A/C clutchBoth cutoffs are needed to keep the pressure in its acceptable range. Too high (temperature probe) causes hose failure, too low (Low pressure cutoff) causes mechanical damage. You can optionally use a Ford low pressure sensor (located on the pump low pressure inlet) if your temperature sensor is irreplaceable, of if you have an un-traceable broken wire. For an XJ set it to 40Lbs on the low side. Any lower will cut off the pump until the pressure gets back up. Only for extreme cases though, I don't recommend general jerry-rigging.
