Functions and fits as advertised. Low quality and low value.

After replacing my AC worked great
Just fine

I used it on a custom AC setup. With a Sandeep SD7 compressor and a smallish 13x22 parallel flow condenser. I get 40°degrees at idle and as low as 36° at around 45 mph. At highway speed it’s back up to around 40°.For those people worried about clogging, make sure you are replacing your condenser. I flushed my evaporator with 7 cans of brake clean and a two cans of AC flush. It looked like coffee after the first flush. You can pop the top off a can of AC flush and put it on a can of brake clean. Brake clean is way cheaper than AC flush.

I bought this adjusting orifice tube because it's suppose to provide better cooling performance, but it's not as reliable as the fixed orifice tubes. After I installed this tube, my a/c refrigerant would not flow through it because it was blocked. This orifice tube has a spring that adjusts the orifice size that the refrigerant flows through, but I guess it could become inoperative and become blocked. Just go for the more reliable fixed orifice tube since it just has a fixed orifice size that the refrigerant flows through and no moving parts that can fail.

Just about 1/2 way through summer my a/c goes out on my astro van so I had to find the leak O ring of course and while I was in there I decided to replace the orifice tube. been working well ever since.. a/c blows much colder than before.. great product

Your A/C system will operate at different pressures and the old fixed orifice tube is designed to find a happy medium in the varied pressures. This tube will adjust for those different pressures and give you a more optimum and more constant pressure for better cooling. With the more constant pressures, it is also supposed to be better for your compressor. A must for a R134 conversion. The same person that worked at Harrison who designed the fixed orifice tube is the same person who came up with this variable orifice tube.It works great. I can start the car and at idle and low engine RPM I can feel the A/C working great. I have noticed a difference at how much better the inside of my car cools off after sitting in the sun and the dash and vents have gotten hot. These cost a bit more than the old fixed orifice but are well worth the extra money.
