About this item

  • We have all been in a situation where we need to quickly turn the power off on our router table or contractor table saw and both of our hands are a bit pre-occupied. Reaching down and underneath your router table or contractor table saw to try and locate the power switch can be very cumbersome as well as very dangerous while your feeding stock through. Many router table setups don’t even have an external power switch separate from the router itself.
  • With this uniquely designed and easy to locate Paddle Button Stop Power Tool Switch you can simply bump the large stop sign paddle with your knee or hip to shut the power off. That means both of your hands can stay engaged on the project while you bump the power off with your hip or knee. A large green START button is always visible on the top side of the paddle. Simply push the START button to power on.
  • Install the switch near or at hip level or in a position that you will be able to bump it when needed. The switch comes with installation hardware and can be mounted to most any type of material. The unit has two cords. The heavy duty female cord is 18” long and designed to accept the power source plug from your power tool. The heavy duty male cord is approximately 66 inches long and is used to plug the switch unit into your standard wall outlet.
  • Please take note that the Paddle Button Stop Power Tool Switch is 15 amps and will not work with power tools drawing higher amperage. Keep this in mind when connecting to your machinery. This switch was designed to work with smaller machinery like routers and smaller table saws. Check your machinery before using this product.
  • The stop sign paddle measures approximately 5-3/8” tall by 3-7/16” wide to make it easy to see and even easier to contact when needed. Mounting hardware is included but some surfaces my require hardware that does not come with the switch for proper mounting.

I have this installed on my router table and it come off the back by means of uni-strut. It sets about shoulder high to me and is so easy to access in case of urgency (hasn’t happened). I feel so much safer knowing that if a bit shank were to bend, making a quick shutdown necessary, I’ll be able to accomplish it without having to find the switches location were it usually resides, under the top! I always have to take my eyes off of my work, to find the switches location on my table saw. I will be trying to use these switches for a replacing the factory switch. I like the build quality of these, and the large paddle makes for a positive target.

Updating my original one start review to five stars, after the seller got back to me within 12 hours (on a weekend, no less) and recommended I push the start button in harder than usual. Well, that definitely did the trick.Having used many router start/stops in the past, this one is different in that you need to put a good amount of effort into the initial start button push, until it makes a loud “CLICK” sound. I imagine this won’t be a bad thing once I’m used to it, and can even be described as a safety feature. Good news is that conversely, the STOP button is light as a feather to activate, which is what really matters. Thanks for the quick product support guys.

I mounted my table saw into my workbench which meant the power switch was going to be difficult to reach but this works great. I mounted it to the side right in line with my knee so I can kill the power without the use of my hands.

I built a table for an old and very powerful router. The switch on the router was funky and it was not easily accessed when the router was mounted in the table. Running the power through the Fulton switch gave me positive on/off control and I can switch it with my knee meaning I don't have to take a hand off the work-piece; a great enhancement to safety and convenience for a modest price.

I bought this for my router table. It does its job and does it well. I like it, but I do have two minor nitpicks.First, it was a little annoying to install. The bottom screw is behind the two power cables, which I had to detach before I could fit a screwdriver in to install it. However, this will normally be a one-time annoyance. The only other minor annoyance is the stop paddle clicks in and take a bit of effort to pull out, or to turn it on again since that also pushes it out. I am not going to complain about the safety of this, but it is already basically impossible to hit the on switch as it is. If I turn the router off for a few seconds to adjust something, it takes enough force to turn it on again that it actually moves my router table even with the wheels locked.Honestly this is not a big deal, and it is not like similar products are perfect. At this price point for a niche product, most alternatives are not perfect either. As long as this switch does not melt from the current, or do its one job incorrectly (resulting in injury), that is good enough.

Like the large size, works great. The only thing that would be better is if it had a longer cord about 3 feet more at least for my shop
