It's hefty and appears to be well made. That's where it ends. If you tighten it enough so it doesn't leak it will not swivel. If you try to make it swivel the lever section will unscrew from the female mounting section. It is reverse threaded.I tried different ways of making this work. There doesn't seem to be one. When tightened onto the male hose end there is too much friction for the swivel to swivel. If you continue to use it as a shutoff it will eventually unscrew and give you a shower. This is essentially just a badly designed shutoff valve. That's not what is claimed and not what was paid for.Now to find something that does the job.

I ordered this as a hose end shut-off so I don't have to walk all the way back to the faucet when I'm done filling water troughs. It looked like it would be a relatively cheap plastic but I figured it would probably last one season at least. When I received it I was pleasantly surprised that is actually a pretty heavy duty valve. It is working as intended with no leaks and the valve turns smoothly. I'm now hoping to get a couple of years out of it!

By looking at the product pics alone, I was a bit hesitant to try this because it looks like cheap plastic, but I was pleasantly surprised at how solid it is. I experienced no leaks at either end when fully tightened and the shut-off lever is very easy and smooth to twist; unlike others I have used in the past which tend to stick in position and require far more effort to twist. I also love the fact that its set at a 90-degree angle, as it keeps the hose from protruding out too far from the wall. Great value for the money and I recommend this.

Wonderful garden hose shut off valve. Not much to tell. It has a great fit and seems to have a solid seal. A flip of the lever and your water turns on or off!RECOMMEND!

Dealing with leaking hoses is my LEAST favorite chore, so I usually buy up on items like this by getting name brands that I recognize (and paying considerably more for them.) So I never would've purchased this adapter had it not been presented to me on Vine. And I have to say that I am impressed! This adapter came very nicely packaged, and once I finally wrangled my old adapter off the faucet, I was pleased with how easily this one connected right up. Comes with 2 spare gaskets (unit already has 1 installed). Turned the water on and expected to have to do some wrench tightening, but no leaks at all with just hand-tightening. The lever works smoothly and is well-sized.Overall: Great value for the price, I would definitely buy again from this manufacturer. (Even though I can't even pronounce the name!)

These use a 'ball' valve which means that just a 90 degree twist turns it on or off. I like the large valve handle and love the knobby rotatable joint that makes it easy to tighten to the male hose end.

This Outdoor Faucet Shutoff Valve is well made and very functional. The On/Off water control lever is easy to use and move with your fingers, as it is longer than most (see my photos). We’ve had some that were quite difficult to move, so this is so much easier and better. This Shutoff valve is made with Stainless Steel and is well constructed.

I take my gardening supplies and tools seriously, Whether is it hoses, hose reels, tools, spray nozzles and yes even shut off valves, I only go for top quality,So I decided to give this one a test against two others I have, I will assign this one to "second string" Used only as a back up. Why?First actual port size, on this one it measures only 11/32, whew as on my other two - they both measured 31/64, a big difference.Secondly the valve handle is shorter, requiring more force to turn.Yes the free rotating thread is nice, easy to hand tighten, But for me I will put it on once and it stays with that hose all season, so not really a plus for me.Overall quality does seem to be very good. The rubber does give it a nice feel.If the two issues I have are not important to you then yes this would be a very good overall quality valve.
