I live alone so just in case somebody can pick a lock lol I do use this in my side service door.

This is just perfect very easy to use no tool's need it you can use it in your house or hotel room is just wonderful I order so many of them but this one is just perfect.as I said before it works great it the same time is not built to last one of them broke after couple times use

At first, I thought it was not going to work - but it has to go in at an angle, and as the door closes with it, the device will straighten out. (I thought it went in straight, but was afraid for my fingers. Lol... I got it figured out, though.)Once in place properly, the slide fits snugly against the strike plate, and holds the door tightly shut. I'm very impressed, and may order a couple more for when I travel. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for that extra security without damaging walls or door jambs.

Decided to buy this one after looking at all of the other ones available on Amazon. It is fantastic! Seems to be great quality as it is made with stainless steel. Not plastic. Comes with carrying pouch. More expensive than others but you can’t put a price on safety when travelling. Recommended it to my friends and they bought one right away as well. 5/5 stars!

Took this on vacation for its inaugural use, and the hole in the portable lock wasn’t wide enough for the hotel door latch bolt to pass through. Rendered the portable lock completely unusable. I realize now that other types of these locks have two holes, one on either end of the device, to accommodate multiple bolt sizes. Purchased this because it looked easier to use than other types of hotel security locks, and because it had a carrying case. I won’t be using precious carryon space for this item again since I won’t know if my hotel has the right (small) door bolt. I travel often for work, and I think most hotels have larger bolt styles, so I likely won’t be able to use this. I think I’m just going to invest in a door stopper which is more universal and lighter to carry too. (This thing is pretty heavy.)
