Amazing quality and ease of use. I had One of these many years ago and left it in the house when the house was sold. Just ordered another last summer and it is at the same quality.

This is fantastic! I installed it in my garage where I used to have to hand coil my extension cord every time I used it. This really works to quickly dispense the cord and wind it up. In fact, it is sort of fun to watch the wrapping take place inside the net. I wish I had bought this years ago. Great solution for any extension cord and I highly recommend it.

Product works ok… problem is they say it accepts 12awg and 150ft. They don’t say it will handle 150ft of 12awg. I was left with 30ft still out of the basket

What I like about this product is you leave one end of the extension cord plugged in all the time and just pull out what you need. It’s simple, inexpensive and well made. Easily winds a 100’ 14 gauge extension cord even in cold weather. It comes with 2 mounting systems, a fixed bracket and a swivel bracket. Both are strong and stable. This Wonder Winder replaces one I bought about 30 years ago. At some point one of the crank bearing washers fell off the old one and, while it still worked, it was a pain. Wonder Winder sells all the parts to repair but the shipping costs were a deal breaker, so I ordered a brand new one from Amazon. The quality is at least as good as the original if not better.

I was looking for a way to store the 100-ft cord for my electric lawnmower and all other lawn tools. I was using a small portable reel that you spin to pull the cable in but I found it very frustrating because you had to manually try to move the cables as you're spooling them in. In any case, I found it annoying and frustrating.I came across this and was going through all the reviews and customer pictures and really found it interesting. It is so much easier to pull the wire in and also to pull the wire out. The best part is you don't need to spool all the wire out. I just pull out just enough to plug into the lawnmower and as I'm mowing, it pulls out more wire automatically as needed and keeps the rest of the cord spooled in the basket. It helps cut down on spooling wire back in since not all of the cord was not pulled out of the basket. The only issue I faced was that the grip was not always 'grippy' to pull the cord back into the basket. It slips at times and you have to adjust the pressure but still, that doesn't help. Sometimes I have to manually push some of the cord back into the basket but that's not always the case. In any case, I am pretty satisfied with my purchase.

The instructions and images were so crappy I wasted too much time trying to get it together. This is very overpriced. Even if the instructions were clear, it’s still only worth $19.99 - at best. There is a part called the yoke that does not insert easily. This product is shipped with what appears to two wheels. One is not a wheel or part of the winding mechanism. Lousy instructions are the hallmark of low quality products. There is no image of how it is to be installed. The directions simply state to install it. No mention of the wheels that prevent that from happening. One “wheel” has to be removed. It’s a wall mount. The mesh basket is cheap and will likely disintegrate if you actually used this product. Amazon has a loser with this one. It’s not worth the money even if it worked for a few days or weeks.I could not have anticipated the lack of quality or the terrible instructions. This is an inferior product that probably gets sent back often. Keep in mind that a retractable reel takes up much less space. This requires more space for the mesh bag.

Design is so close to perfect. Is frustrating that it will not wind a damp or wet cord. The winding mechanism is unable to properly get a grip on the cord when it is damp.

I like this product. But there are a few dislikes I have so I can't give full rating. First, I don't particularly like pushing the pressure lever. I would prefer pulling which to me feels more intuitive. They could easily made it pull. The other issue is why not provide a cord stopper? The problem is that as you wind the cord back, the end can go right through the opening and into the rollers. You need to fish it out. Azn sells these winch stoppers for around 8 bucks. On the good side, the cord seems to coil up properly and wind up is pretty smooth. There is a chance that the cord can kink up inside the basket and this makes pulling the cord out much harder.I bought the Chromex before and I returned it because it was missing a bracket which made the unit useless. Even though this unit has one less mounting bracket, I do believe is slightly better than the Chromex. Seems to be a slightly better finished product. Time will tell how long it will last but its better than an auto winder which will eventually always fail. I did mount the WW3D to a standard wired shelving unit in my garage using three bolts and washers. I had to find very flat head bolts since the swinging mount will jam up with standard bolt heads and not swing. The attached picture shows the WW3D mounted on my wired shelf and the winch stopper on the end of cord.

If you are here, I have to assume that you were in a situation similar to me. I had good extension cords, but they either got knotted up or when it was cold, became less flexible and were a pain to manage.I do have one great extension cord that came on a reel, but it only reached so far.I searched for something that would be like the old school vacuum cleaner cords that, when given a little yank, would self-coil. As far as I could tell, that didn't exist.I found this guy and thought I'd give it a try. I have been very happy with the modest purchase and it saves me time and frustration on a nearly daily basis.I use mine outdoors in the yard - with corded mower, trimmer, power rake, blower/vacuum, dry vac, and other power tools. Is this because I am super-green? not really - if anything, I am super cheap and the corded tools are less expensive than their gas counterparts. This thing lets me get around the yard easily and never loops on itself, so the knots are gone. When done, I unplug and use the crank to roll that sucker up! Voila! The thing is made from plastic, but that doesn't seem to affect its functionality. Plus I assume it makes it a lot lighter, so when I am done with it and want to have it out of sight, it stores quickly and easily. My one (slightly) negative is that, if the cord gets a tiny bit wet, then the friction on the crank/pulley makes it slip. Adding pressure on the lever doesn't really help - you just need to add a little slack; if that still doesn't work, then you need to dry the cord off.I love this Winder!
