My 7 year old squirrel hunting fanatic loves this squirrel call. It fits perfectly in his jacket pocket and easy to read directions. He’s been throughly enjoying his squirrel dumplings.

Lots of fun attracting squirrels for observation - it really upsets the big guys whilst the wee ones head for hiding in the trees - it's best to use low volume squeaks at first to raise their curiosity

I'm enjoying the squirrel call; however, I purchased it because I love squirrels and love to feed them nuts, and wanted to attract them to me. I was appalled to find out that this is for hunters, and that they order this Call because they want to draw them out so they can kill them. This makes me sick. It's downright mean and cruel. Squirrels are adorable, they're fun to feed, and some of them have become so comfortable with me that they come to me (without the Call) because they know I have nuts to give them. Some of them even jump in my lap and they take the peanuts (in the shell) right from my fingers. They do the cutest things. I guess I'm just naive, but when I searched for squirrel whistles, I had no idea that people want to kill them, and one review that I read said that he kills them and eats them. That's disgusting. Squirrels are rodents. It's like eating a rat.

As soon as my Haydels squirrel call arrived I took it out into the back yard and started calling squirrels, following the instructions on the back of the package. And almost immediately, I had greys barking in response to my call. I can't think of a better test of a call.There are several things that I think contribute to making this the most effective call I've tried. First is that it combines a distress call and a barker in one call- that's much handier than trying to juggle two different calls. Second is that Haydel's has got the pitch just right on their calls particularly on the distress call. Last, they provide you with really good instructions right on the package. Follows those to a T and you'll be guaranteed to get a response when you use this call in the woods.I've had Haydel's metal distress call for some time, and I like the fact that it's simple (no moving parts to wear out), and it's just about indestructible. I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. But this call gives you both barking and distress at a lower price than the distress call alone, and if were to buy just one call, I think this would be the one.

super rugged and calls them in. the distress call also works great for other varmints too! would also recommend to a dog trainer/owner to make the dogs perk up or drive them crazy. very good fit and finish

Because of mixed reviews I thought I would just order it, not expecting much. The dang thing actually works! Only negative was the second time I was hunting, it fell out of my pocket, never saw it again. I would recommend attaching it to a lanyard or rope of some sort & keep it around your neck, you may thank me!

I tried this call over on the farm where they have a great squirrel problem.Going around the woods the call worked very well and presented some good targets.I would recommend this to anyone who needs to call squirrels into range.

The bark sound is very realistic and I was able to get a curious squirrel to come check me out. Too bad I didn't have my airgun handy. I got another one to stick his head out from behind a tree trunk enough for me to pop him.

this is the finest squirrel call ive ever used. the day i got it i went hunting. i sat at the base of a tree and followed the instructions and a squirrel softly barked 20ft above my head in the tree i was leanig against. didnt get a shot as i was too close and unpepared for such a rapid response. amazing results. changed locations and shot a nice one. had several squirrels call from 50-100yds away and i closed in and shot them also. not bad. ive been hunting since 1969 and am now 51. this is the best call ive purchased. best bellows, nice acrylic body and the baby whistle is cool. 1st time in the woods and it put meat on the table. im friggin sold. a lanyard would be icing on the cake. but the world isnt perfect. whoever designed this is a hunter and thought ahead. they did a wonderful job. if you buy this call you to will be satisfied. i am. squirrels are history....carl
