We recommend that the customer keep a heating element in case of a fail. This guarantees the hot water service to continue.
Size wrench 1"" and half is required for removing the element.
The HE90240 is the correct part for the Eco'Smart ECO18 which uses two of these elements.
The HE 90240 will work in the EEM24018. The EEM24018 has two heating modules that use one element each.
It will fit certain (but not all) 18kW, 24kW, 27kW and 36kW models by Eemax.
Three HE 90240 elements are used in the ECO 27 water heater.
The HE 90240 will work perfectly as a replacement part for the RETEX-18.
The Eco'smart HE 90240 ECO 27 replacement part will fit the American Heating AH27 perfectly.
The Eemax HA018240 uses two of the HE 90240 heating elements.
The Eco'smart HE 90240 will work perfectly in the Ee'max EEM24027, because the ECO 27 is the same unit, with a different cover. Ee'max owns Eco'smart.
How often should you clean the rods for maintenance?
Answer: Once per year, the tankless water heater should be flushed with an anti-scale treatment system.

First set I ordered for my ECO18 worked fine, but then the second ones I bought blew fuses and were burned up inside of my water heater.BUY OEM, these are junk.

Our Instant Hot Water system really does need an annual element replacement, and these elements are both good quality and reasonably priced. It’s not a hard job to drain the system and replace the elements, but it’s easier and less stressful to replace everything before a failure.This set came delivered in a sturdy box and was properly packaged to avoid shipping damage. I would recommend the purchase, I was very satisfied.

Well I purchased and installed in November of 2023 and it's failed as of October 19 2024. It worked very well while it lasted, it pulled proper amps and heated like OEM performed, but laying only 11 months is no good. Hopefully warranty lasts 12 months or longer...3 pictures attached show 2 good elements, and the far left is this one I replaced in this review and it's reading 0 amps.

These seem to burn out a lot. Sometimes we replace them often and sometimes they last a while. That could mean a lot of things so I can’t say it’s the element itself. As far as what you get, it’s exactly what you expect. It came packaged well. Wasn’t broken or damaged in anyway worked fine when we installed it. Easy to put in if you’re familiar with your water heater. Haven’t had any problems I can directly relate to this purchase. I keep buying them when ours go out so they do work.

We converted to a tankless water heater system several years ago & did we learn a lot! We have heavy mineral deposits in the area, so the calcium builds up thick on these elements. Rather than be without hot water for half a day while the built-up elements soak in Vinegar, the light bulb came on & we ordered this extra element so that we can put clean ones in and re-install the unit in one sweep. What we later learned is really the positioning of this type of tankless unit is, there's a cleaning fluid system that you can run through the unit to help take the scale off the elements. We can't do that because we did not allow room below the unit the run the cleaning fluid through, so we have to completely dismantle the unit off the wall. Having a couple of these clean elements around make the maintenance task a simple solution for our case. We really do enjoy having the tankless water system because of its efficiency & space saving.
