Did a good job cleaning my flat top grill, but it does leave a lot of grit after cleaning, its made of pumice so it was expected. My grill is removable so I removed it and easily washed off the excess grit with the hose then re-oiled it and put it back on. If your grill cannot be removed or be sprayed off with water you might want to consider other options. My grill is approx 14 x 32 and I used a half a brick for one cleaning.
