The dumbbells are fine, but to take off a dumbbell from the rack you have to remove all the dumbbells above it. That’s how squished together they are on the rack. You’ll have to get another rack if you buy this set.

Lots of times rubberized weights have a strong petroleum smell that, while it dissipates over time, is strong enough that they need to be left in a well ventilated area for quite a while until it is gone. I haven’t noticed that at all with these weights. You could use these indoors on day one with no annoying smell. The dumbbells are well made and the knurling is nice and not too aggressive. The color coding makes it easy to quickly identify what the weight is and which dumbbell is its mate. Highly recommended.

This is a great set of hand weights (is that the proper term for weights that I hold in my hands?). 12 pounds is the weight I needed to round out my home exercise equipment. These appear to be well made and are otherwise very similar to other weights I have. Now I shall move on to weightier matters.Important point: I chose the bright yellow. My other weights are black, blue or red. I like the bright color — I will never confuse these with any of the other sizes!
