This is a solid means of adding extra security to any inward opening door. It's a simple design which is very easy to install. They forewarn you that, if you don't have enough clearance between the swinging door and the jamb for the lock to fit, you will have to chisel out some of the door jamb. (See pictures for an example of what a chiseled out area looks like as I had to do.) They provide one short screw so that you can do a test fit and trial opening to test everything out before you screw the whole assemble down.It's easy to operate once you get used to the motion of pushing it out of the locked position and swinging the locking plate back. Once locked, the door is not going anywhere -- it's solidly blocked from opening.Overall, this is a well-made and simple way to add security to your doors.

Nice way to give extra security to a room, especially if it cant lock already, The locks also give us another layer of security when we retire for the night,couldnt kick in the door As a child lock they are great too.

Haven’t had to put it to use yet but it seems very sturdy, equal to the other identical brands. Only thing I would recommend is to use your own screws, the ones provided seem cheap.

Very solid design/construction, will fit easily in the existing gap without the need to carve out a slot in the jamb for alignment (may still do that for appearance, however). Also has an adjustable central slot to test fit before finalizing the final three which helps install be guaranteed. We're installing in an interior room of our house so my only real complaint is color - would love a finish that matches our current door knobs. This is a fairly common critique I have however as we're in a unique situation of needing these kind of features for our family where others likely don't (i.e. ability of some to secure themselves during a mental health situation). Having this stand out on the door frame is a fairly big tell, would love something a bit more discreet but that's not the manufacturer's fault in any way.

This is an excellent product and I now have several installed in my home including one on the front door and another on the back door. The quality feels solid and secure and I love that it offers an extra layer of protection against break-ins. It gives me peace of mind knowing that it can withstand a significant amount of force and really reinforces the door frame.Installation was straightforward but I highly recommend using long screws around three to four inches in length to anchor it deep into the door frame for maximum strength. The included screws are decent but upgrading them makes a big difference in security.One thing to note is that unlatching the lock takes a bit of coordination. You need to push the door in slightly and then pull away from the latch before it will open. It works well for me but it’s a bit difficult for my elderly mother and father to use on their own.Despite that minor challenge I still highly recommend this lock to anyone looking to add real protection to their doors. It’s sturdy well-made and does exactly what it promises.
