This is a part for an HP OfficeJet Pro X476, which is obsolete and no longer supported so this review is probably obsolete. My unit was rescued on its way to a dumpster in 2018 for want of a $40 part so I brought it home and I'm trying to keep it goingg for as long as I can.I started getting paper jam errors when there was no paper in the document feeder. All the help I got from the internet was to open the cover and spin the wheels and it would clear the error, which did work for a while. Then it got to a point that the error would come up when the printer booted up (no paper in it) and obviously I couldn't ever use the document feeder.This is not a part that you should disassemble as I discovered when I tried to take it apart to see if there was something I can fix. I can't emphasize enough NOT to take this apart. I fubar'd mine, and after analyzing the cost of the part or purchasing a new printer (or scanner) with similar capabilities, I ordered this as a replacement part. Took me less than five minutes to connect it and magically the printer is fully functional again and will last me a couple more years. As long as I leave it alone and don't try to take it apart again.
