ICOtec GEN2 GC500 Feature Details
Programmability is made easy with the GEN2 GC500. All calls are loaded and played directly from a standard size SD Media Card. Any custom audio file saved as a .mp3 or a .wav (16 bit or less) file format can be played by the GEN2 GC500. ICOtec has an exclusive FREE audio call library that is accessible from our website. All free calls are encrypted and playable only by an ICOtec programmable caller.
The unit requires 4 AA (1.5 volt batteries) and the remote requires one 9 volt battery. Batteries not included. All synchronization cables and computer USB connection cables are included. Windows PC computer downloads recommended. Light weight, compact, easy to operate, fantastic quality audio calls, very long range remote, low power consumption and one of the lowest prices available for a great programmable call.
ICOtec GC500 Remote Keypad Layout
The ICOtec GEN2 GC500 remote control was designed to be able to use with little confusion. The night light button is on the top right. The play and stop buttons are located in the center of the keypad. The favorites button is located on the left hand side of the keypad and can display up to six preset sounds for instant recall. The channel up and down and volume up and down are located at the bottom of the keypad.

The GEN2 GC500 remote control displays six rows of sound call files with a three digit number at the beginning of the file name. If you make changes to your call list within the GEN2 GC500 unit/SD card, you will need to be sure that you have assigned a three digit number to your new sounds files so that they may be read by the unit.
Also located on the screen is a battery level indicator on the top left of the screen, the sound that is currently playing or the sound that was last activated if the sound have been stopped and the volume level is located on the bottom right of the screen. The volume steps are from 0-7.
ICOtec GC500 Remote Control Night Light
The GEN2 GC500 features a red back light for the buttons and the screen for your convenience. There is a small button on the upper right side of the front keypad to activate the light. The screen and keypad light can be illuminated and turned off by selecting the button named LIGHT.

This is a great call. It has plenty of calls already programmed on it but also allows you to download many others on the website. I recommend it for people who want a good game call without breaking the bank.

I read a lot of reviews on this game call. A few said it was a pain to download new sound. Its took me a few minutes to figure out and I now can get it done in a matter of seconds. The speaker it self is plain which is nice. The last caller I had had a screen on it that turn on tell you what was playing. The problem with that is I can't seen the screen when the speaker is deployed down range so why have it. And it doesn't shut off until I shut it off. Is the sound the greatest? No but it is pretty good for a caller in this price range. The remote is bad a$$. After re number all the sounds in a order that I liked it works perfectly. Which I would say way easy to accomplish. It has 2 favorites that hold 4 each is cool to. Over all the call is cool and does the job. I would buy it again.

I’ve used this on quite a few stands now and really like it. Super light and compact. Sound quality is good and battery life is good even in zero degree Wyoming weather. Online sound library has good sound options. Only con is volume on windy days but that’s to be expected in this small unit running on AA battery’s. Overall great entry level E-caller.

This product function as advertised. The supplied SD card has most sounds that anyone would need, but it can utilize other sounds from some other vendors. It brought wild hogs out of the woods and into range.

Good electronic call... nice and adjustable loudness with 25 individual calls. The remote worked from about 100 yards - with the speaker hidden behind my shooting berm. When my wife was walking the dog at dusk, I hit her with the Wood Pecker Distress call to get her attention, then went to the Coyote Pup Distress to lure her in close - then upped the volume an hit her with the high pitched Female Coyote howl. She about had a hart attack, started yelling for me to come quick - so it's plenty realistic. Afterwards he said her hart was racing cause it scared the sheite out of her :-) The remote also activates / deactivates the Predator Decoy (sold separately) and the remote screen has a faint light to help see / scroll thru the list of calls at night... but the text is to small and the light to dim for my eyes - without reading glasses. They say additional calls /files can be added but so far I have not been able to figure out how... may have to use a separate SD card, or it may only read MP3 files (I'm not sure). Anyhow, I like the call just fine and plan to use it for coon, bob cat and coyote.

Great call! Called in a few coyotes in a non hunting area to see if it worked. I was truly surprised. Tried the crow call and was mobbed by crows. I mean the call was mobbed they kept flying around looking for the crow in distress. Truly amazing. The remote works from anywhere from 3 inches to beyond 300 yrds. Further than anybody would ever need. Just great! I was always looking at fox pro but the price was to steep. This call does everything on less batteries more distance and downloading new calls is a snap.

this is a caller for no wind days must use in daylight hours backlight is not great. It is not as loud as fox pro or primos alpa dogg. It is resonably priced for the beginner.. Just wait Iam sure before long you will see a bigger better one come from the same company. It is nice to carry very light. It is best to make sure you carry a mouth call with you. I have already encounter a small problem with the on off switch on the remote. In cold weather below 20 degrees it does not want to turn on, this has happened several times already. Maybe it is just mine I will send it in later. It is easy to load new sounds that is a plus, also the company will be offering new sounds very soon they say like in two weeks. You can set it out a verylong ways from you and not on line of sight and it works great. You get what you pay for.

Call is excellent. Easy to carry .paired with the quiver critter it is deadly. A little more volume would make it better...
