These are some interesting pants. They've got sewn in pockets around the hips and the knees where these inserts fit into to protect your major joints in case of a fall. The jeans themselves are a little on the stretchy size and fit a little large on me, but that problem is solved easily with a belt. I purposely bought them a little long as the cuffs tend to ride up a bit while on the bike. These aren't overly hot and are fairly comfortable while riding. Overall, a nice pair of riding pants.

ILM make a great product, but their sizing leaves much to be desired. I am a size 34 and I ordered a 36 because I know that if I ordered my size it would not fit and I would never get to wear the pants. That said this size 36 fit like a 34. Yes you need to wear a belt like any riding pants, because you are bending at the knees more than a regular pair of pants. These pants are stretchy in the right places and the padding isn’t bulky or uncomfortable. The exterior material is very nice and a material you wouldn't feel weird about in a regular setting. I actually like the look and feel of these pants and like the extra protection liner to make these pants stronger.

Well im pretty disappointed that these fit terribly. The waist and length are alright but the crotch is way to short so they are always way to low. Overall they are way to tight to even wear and that's with the protectors removed. No way I'd be able to put them on with the pads installed bummer

I've had a total of 4 pairs of riding jeans, including these. These from ILM are the first that I've had that actually really look and feel like jeans. The ultra-thin and ultra-flexible armor (L2 knees and L1 hips) make these a lot more comfortable to wear that my other jeans with old-school armor. That said, the hip armor is worryingly small - the smallest of any hip armor that I have. And although aramid lined, they do not have a slide rating. Can't really expect that at this price point.I usually wear 36x32, and ordered that size here. They are plenty long, even on the bike. They are also a bit stretchy, especially in the waist, and that makes me want to wear a belt with them to secure them in place at the waist. I noticed that several other reviewers have said something similar.Off the bike these don't scream "motorcycle pants!" which I like. They really do look like regular jeans, and they are pretty comfortable to move around in. They are a bit on the warm side, which you should expect given the aramid lining.

I was very impressed with these. I got the dark wash and pulling them out of the bag, they look like regular jeans. The aramid/Kevlar lining goes almost all the way to the ankle - another brand I have only goes to the knee. The included armor is CE2.For the hip armor, it is so unobtrusive you wouldn't know it's there to look at it, and barely feel it at all wearing it. The knee armor puts a little pressure on the kneecap off the bike, which I don't love, but might just take some getting used to. The knee armor is slightly more noticeable, but not much. I took one pad out and asked my girlfriend if she could tell which one had the armor and she could, but said she wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't asked. The fit is to size - the waist and length are the same as most jeans I own and within the brand variance I'm used to.Nits I could pick are that the zipper, while being YKK, could be a little beefier - it feels a little smaller and flimsier than the ones on regular jeans. The fabric, although 98% cotton and 2% spandex per the tag feels really stretchy and kind of clingy. I would have preferred rougher cotton even if it meant some break in time. All in all, a great product and deal. Hopefully I never have to test the safety features .

It's always a bit difficult to rate clothing items like this because people are many different shapes. For me these are 3 Stars mainly because they don't fit well even though I ordered the correct size. They may fit a differently shaped person more to their liking. I'm 6'2", 185 FWIW.The problem isn't the sizing but the 'cut.' The legs are the proper length but the groin area is tight while the waist area is too loose. I wouldn't want to go down one size because then the groin would be way too tight but as is I have a large air gap around the back at this size. We're talking major plumber's butt anytime I bend over the least bit. A belt might fix this somewhat but I don't want to wear a belt with motorcycle pants. This makes them awkward to walk around in, like wearing women's jeans (I'm married, it was an accident :)Sitting on the bike they're great, very comfortable (though you'll want a longish jacket or you'll be getting a draft down your heinie). This odd 'cut' kills the deal for me however. They also don't provide much protection for motorcycle pants. Premium motorcycle pants use exotic fibers like kevlar for abrasion resistance. These pants are just cotton with a mostly spandex liner that claims to have some abrasion resistance. The pads at the waist are tiny and very thin but better than nothing. The knee pads are thicker but shift up to the top of your thigh as soon as you sit on the motorcycle. This is a common problem with 'soft' clothing like this. If you were to take a slide wearing these pants the knee pad wouldn't protect your knee as the force of the slide will push the pad away. Any clothing with sewn in 'pockets' for these types of foam pads will do that. It's physics. That's why my go-to motorcycle pants are firm leather with a hard plastic 'cup' sewn in around the knee that won't shift should I fall on it.Also these are three season pants at best. The liner hugs your legs like leotards and hence they're quite warm. The week I wore these it was mostly around 80F and though not uncomfortably hot I wouldn't want to wear them in warmer weather. They do look good and are meant to wear inside the boot, which I prefer vs. over the boot. They are also long enough that you can wear half boots without showing your socks while riding.I wish they fit better and allowed for more air flow because as they are they won't see much use from me except on colder days when I'm riding at slower speeds on my adventure bike. For my sportbike riding I'll stick with the leather pants.
