Let me start by saying I'm always weary of buying moving or noisy toys for my dogs, and I thought this was a quieter interactive toy so I thought I'd give it a try. They don't like loud or noisy toys, and I was hoping since there is no music or flashing lights they they would love this toy for an indoor activity since we are getting so much rain. Unfortunately, after trying to play with all 3 of my dogs, they all decided that they didn't want to play with this toy because of the weird grinding noise it makes when turned on and rolling around. I can use it as a plain ball but I have to supervise because they can bite through the soft shell.A few things about the ball. I'm pretty sure you have to start playing with it to start moving, although sometimes it just randomly starts moving. The 3 modes seem to be pretty similar, I can't tell the difference between the blue and green mode, there really isn't a bounce, it's more of a roll, and the pink mode the ball pretty much stays in place and does a wiggle. It isn't super active in any of the modes. The soft shell is too soft for my dogs. I would say this ball is better suited to a smaller or medium sized dog as opposed to a large dog. And make sure your dogs are ok with a moderately noisy toy.
