I’m very satisfied with this Intex pool skimmer. For the price, I didn’t expect it to be this effective and well-built — but it truly exceeded my expectations.Installation was easy and straightforward. It connected perfectly to my Intex above-ground pool, and it started working right away. The build quality feels solid, and all parts fit together nicely without any leaks or issues.What I really like is how well it catches leaves, bugs, and debris before they sink to the bottom. The basket is easy to remove and clean, and the adjustable bracket helps keep the skimmer in the right position as the water level changes. I recently got myself a new Intex sand filter for my pool, and to complement it, I added the Intex Deluxe Automatic Skimmer. Here's what I've experienced:Pros:Efficient Cleaning: This skimmer does an excellent job of keeping my pool's surface clean. It efficiently removes leaves, debris, and other floating particles, leaving the water looking pristine.Easy Installation: Setting it up was a breeze. The skimmer is really good but it's so bulky and sticks out a bit. Our pool is only 2m x 4m x 1m, so probably better for much bigger pools.

I bought an Intex skimmer 3 years ago and was really happy with it, until I wasn't. It suddenly started flying off the rail. No matter how many times I tried it wouldn't stay, so I removed it. I'm in Hawai'i and we've had a really nice spring (but with that comes lots of gnats) so I decided it was time to order another one. Ha! With this pandemic and pools selling like crazy, I was trying for months to purchase one! Finally was able to order from this seller (albeit more expensive than they usually are.) Anyway, this one seems a little larger, the blue on it is a nice turquoise, and it feels a bit heavier = maybe a newer version? Bottom line, I was so hoping it would stay on and yes it did! Been running the pump all day and so far so good = I'm happy again!Some tips:1) I read (of course after I purchased this one) that if you put a small piece of rubber, or foam under the screws before mounting to the pool frame that it'll stay on better.2) If you're using the filter that came with your pool (they're never strong enough) make sure you put the flow restricting plug into your 2nd intake line. If you've upgraded your filter it's not necessary. I have an upgraded pump, but a friend hooked up the old skimmer for me and used it. I was getting air in the pump that I had to release every few hours (good thing I worked from home). With this skimmer I decided to try it without, and it works great! Just make sure it's level in the water.IF you're on the fence about buying this skimmer, trust me it's worth it! Ignore the bad reviews. My pool surface was covered with gnats when I installed the new one today. Within 30 minutes or so, they were all gone.And no, it's not hard to hook up. I'm a senior female and did by myself it in less than 10 minutes.

This is a great product and I do think that it's doing a good job of keeping the surface clean. The only problem that I have is with the Intex dual output filtration system, there is a small round plug that you need to put in the output hose that the skimmer is not connected to. If you don't put the round plug with the tiny hole in the center in that other output hose, The section is not strong enough for the skimmer to work. But it seems like when you do, the filter ration is significantly reduced and I seem to get about twice as much air in my filtetration system. I have yet to get through to the InTex support hotline the summer to figure out why this is happening, i've been on hold for times longer than 20 minutes and have yet to get through to a person to ask what I can do to prevent this. I have a pool pump that is significantly larger than the one that comes with my pool because I'm running a saltwater system as well. I don't feel like it's a dealbreaker for the skimmer but I feel like there's definitely something going on that could be improved.I also feel like stronger suction will be beneficial because some of the larger debris like Asian ladybugs would be sucked down into the skimmer basket instead of just left to float above, with in the confines of the blue circular skimmer portion. A lot of the debris that's heavier - like grass and leaves and Asian ladybugs - does not get sucked down into the skimmer basket but merely floats at the surface and it can be difficult to get those pieces removed without having them dispersed throughout the pool again.
