I admit it looks a little, well not that great. But I purchase it away. Once I got the flow right, it works above what I expected. It was worth my second guess. Glad I purched.

Our Intex pool only came with the pool wall inlet connections which does nothing for getting the debris out of the pool. This skimmer was easy to install and with a little adjustment for position at the waterline has been very effective at removing the floating debris on the water's surface. I also purchased socks for the screen inside the skimmer which increased the effectiveness by trapping finer material that would normally go through the screen and end up in the pool filter. I normally have to clean it out everyday, but it only takes a few minutes to clean with all of the interior pieces coming out as an assembly. Flip out the leaves and garbage, put the outer sleeve back over the screen and reinstall. I don't have to clean the pool filter nearly as often since I installed the skimmer.

Works great. We have to readjust it once in a while since it slips and goes at an angle sometimes. Still worth the purchase.

I read reviews saying that this needed a strong pump (I believe 1000gph) but the pump that came with my intel pool is 330gph (pump name Intex C330). My pool is a metal frame 7’2”x5’, I had no issues clamping this on the white metal frame. It fit well on the pool outlet but at first I was getting no suction. I tried the included flow reducer for the other pool outlet but still no suction. Then I switched to completely blocking off the other outlet with one of the black caps that came included with my pool. The basket was floating above the water and no water was going in the top so I ended up tilting the whole basket by screwing it into the frame a bit sideways, at a slight angle. Now it draws water in on one side and leaves and bugs float into the basket that way! I don’t have the suction swirl I see on other reviews but it still works for me!

When you read the product description but it says minimum requirement 800 gallons per hour. On receiving the skimmer the box says requires thousand GPH. They put stickers over the requirement on the box saying 800 GPH. I have an 800 GPH and it's not enough. Have tried our website have tried calling them to know avail.

So to get to the gist of things does the product really work!?The short answer is yes! It really does! But there's a few things I'd suggest to make sure it works it's best. For starters I have a 20x12 above ground Coleman oblong shaped pool. There are two opening in which water is pu.p3d from the pool into the filter. If you are like me you will notice upon connecting this skimmer the suction is not all that great. You know why? It is because to get the best out of this item you will need to block the other opening if you do indeed have dual opening to that work to transfer water to your filter. For my pool it typically take 1 hour for this skimmer to clean it. This includes debris, bugs, feathers, hair and so much more. So I typically will run it 1-2 hours prior to utilizing the pool. Then when we are using the pool I will pool the stopper out of the other opening to ensure the pool water is being filtered successfully. It's a small task for such a huge payoff!

I hate to say this but, I tried another brand. Mostly because I could never get the first one of these that I bought to sit straight. It always sat crooked, and only pulled water from one side. No matter how much I turned and adjusted the hose, I could never get it to sit straight. The one I bought in its place was smaller and sleeker looking. I won’t go into why I didn’t like it, except for the fact it didn’t work half as good as this brand, even with it sitting crooked. So I bought this one again. This time I played with the hose turning and adjusting it until I got it to sit straight. This one blows away the one I bought in its place. My pool was full of floating debris from the last storm we had. After I turned on the pump, the debris was gone in about 30-40 minutes. So in short, I will keep buying this brand when I need a new one.Definitely worth the price.

I live in the tropics, get gnat invasions, and was fed up with scooping before swimming. After reading so many mixed reviews I figured why not just try it and so glad I did! I ordered the Pool Skimmer Socks too (you really NEED those to trap the small bugs) and used one on the 'inside' of the skimmer. Within about 30 minutes or so the surface was cleaned to perfection! I have a 9' x 18' x 52" Intex Metal Frame pool and I could see it pull bugs from the other side of the pool.***If you're having trouble with suction make sure you use the plug with the tiny hole in it to close up one of the dual intake lines inside the pool. It mounted well on the frame, installation was super easy, and it shipped pretty fast. So far, I'm thrilled with this skimmer, and very glad I didn't let those negative reviews sway my decision. I've already announced to friends that the 'Swim with the Gnats Program' has ended for the season!UPDATE: After using this for a few years it started flying out of the pool, and the pump would take on air. Have NO idea why it started doing this!*One review said to put a rock in the bottom to keep it from bobbing. NO. There needs to be air below the filter basket & the bobbing is normal.*Another reviewer said they were getting air from the 2nd intake hose because the plug they send with this skimmer has a small hole in it. Um, it's designed that way dude. He put on the original plug with no hole = NO, do NOT do that! I called Intex and a service rep. who's obviously had this question before and really knows her stuff, said pumps are designed to pull from both valves. Closing off one completely will cause more damage to the pump than the small bit of air being sucked through that tiny hole in plug that comes with the skimmer.YouTube to the rescue > Per a video on there, I mounted some thin one-sided foam tape on the frame and under the plastic screws. It fixed the problem!Eventually my pool rusted, and the skimmer has been sitting in my shed since. I recently bought an 8ft. round pool, but the skimmer sits too low in the water. Still trying to figure out if I can make it work!I hope people will listen to some of what I've said because once you get it working correctly, it really is such a time saver when it comes to cleaning your pool.
