Product Description

Binchotan Charcoal, also known as Japanese Oak from Tosa, Japan, is one of the best quality charcoal. It is considered the highest grade of charcoal and it is reusable. This kind of charcoal is used primarily in Japanese barbeque. Binchotan charcoal is not only limited to use for grilling but can also be used as natural purification for great-tasting water, as a natural deodorizer, and it can be recycled in plant soil. Binchotan charcoal takes time to start but, once ignited it burns steadily with a beautiful flame for a long time. It features a metallic sheen that can see its wood origin and yields powerful heat despite it burning silently without any smoke. This kind of charcoal is perfect for Yakitori, Yakiniku, or grilling fish. Its high-quality feature and high heat preserve the flavorful juices, add beautiful sear, and, make any dish delectable. It does not transfer any flavors or aroma to any dish. Each charcoal can measure up to 1.96-3.93 inches (5-10 centimeters). The product measures 5.25 x 11.00 x 11.00 inches and weighs 4 pounds.

Important Usage Instructions:

  • Use a charcoal chimney to light the charcoal.
  • Please ensure that a spark arrestor or a spark screen is placed on top of the chimney.
  • Sparks and small pieces of charcoal may pop out of the chimney.
  • Ensure the area surrounding the chimney (about 5 feet or 1.5 meters radius) is open and free of objects and people.
  • Do not use water to extinguish the charcoal. Instead, cut off the oxygen supply to the charcoal and let it cool.
  • Charcoal that is not completely burned can be reused again, provided that it is stored properly.

Great, but priceyHint: I used my gas bbq (about 20 minutes) to light the charcoal, then 20 minutes in the bbq before cooking
