Not all bottles were safety sealed and they had different expiration dates. The are more accurate than sticks for testing pool water quality.

These refills extend the usefulness of the Poolmaster 4 and 5-way test kit. As the test is colormetric, the test results do not exactly agree with the numbers obtained at the pool store BUT they do correctly indicate the changes in pool chemistry. The pool store might say the pH has changed from 7.8 on the last test to 7.5 now, while these chemicals also indicate a lowering of the pH but with slightly different numbers. Sun is the enemy of this whole testing apparatus, so store the test chemicals, as well as the test indicator tubes, out of the sun to prevent color fading and chemical deterioration. I tested these new refills against a left-over chemicals from last summer and the results were identical - indicating to me that storage in a closed box and out of freezing temperatures will allow them to last over 1 year.
