This is a two piece unit. It is not fully welded like the original. There is a slip joint in the inlet pipe. It is visible in the pictures if you look closely but not stated in item description.Calling it direct fit is a little misleading when it is more of an assembly required situation. The slip joint brings another possible failure point.In addition, this part has a flat gasket seal on the outlet while the original is a bell flare.

Bought this to fix my wife's 2006 subaru legacy and it was awesome to have an exhaust bolt right in, verses taking it to a shop and have them use crap steel and weld it in. About an hour to install but over all easy.
